i'm going to go swimming this evening.
has anyone else noticed how good swimming is?
Gets boring tho.
I do enjoy swimming. I got an 800m badge when I was 10.
Why is 10 year old Monpot fitter and healthier than 24 year old Monpot?
BUT thinner than 20-22 year old Monpot.
the gym. Swimming is good.
but it means I have to get my belly out in public, and quite frankly, I'm not prepared to do that.
but haven't been in ages. as i can't afford to go to my local one :(
I haven't been swimming since last century.
Explain to me why you think that I'd have got more enjoyment from walking for 20 minutes, getting needlessly wet and showing off my flabby tits and then walking another 20 minutes, than I would from sitting on my arse, eating crisps and ham and watching football and cricket?
I went yesterday, I haven't been for ages but I used to go three times a week. It makes you feel happy, it's exercise but you don't feel like you want to die afterwards, ace.
It's in the same category as 'riding a bike' of Exercise That Isn't Shit.
I go to aquabump..it's great, in the warm junior pool, walking forwards, backwards sideways, pelvic floors, gentle stretches and chatting chatting then we get to pull each other round on floaty woggles
it's the best. I can never fight the whirlpool style current though!
sounds worth getting pregnant for :)
I love aqua aerobics.
flailing arms AND kicking your legs at the same time? That's too much science for me. Last time I tried swimming I'd completely forgotten how to swim. I suck :(
whenever I have swam..like on holiday and suchlike I ALWAYS just end up doing doggy paddle (so elegant!) or just floating around on my back
love swimming. Its very addictive once you get into it and is very good for all-round fitness. It tones your whole body as wel which is a bonus. Its a good way of getting rid of the pent up agression that comes with a 9-5.
It also leaves you with a happy feeling of actually pushing your body to the limit rather than letting it rot into squalor by being lazy.
It only costs me a quid a time as well cos they've never asked me to upgrade my membership since it expired a few months ago.
but i havent been for years cos im shy about my body.
but i decided the other day, the time has come!
people worry about that. But fuck it, there's people of all sorts of shapes and sizes at my local pool and nobody even gives anyone a second glance. And even if they do, so what really?
Its worth doing something positive rather than worrying about something that might only be in your head anyway!
i'm quite body conscious generally but i don't bohter about it at the "pool"
most women at my local are pretty fat anyway so y'know ...
see! i dont want to be referred to like that.
even if i dont know about it
seriously ... these women are substantially larger than you are. you presence would be welcome ...
that sounds quite bad....
cos if you go swimming you will feel better about yourself and will be less susceptible to thoughts of physical insecurity, whether they be accurate or not!
This is just what i found anyway, might not be the same for everyone.
i cant seem to swin more than a length without being completely knackered
i dare say i've forgotten how. i was never any good. i have started going to the gym again though.
The MASSIVE pool on Oxford Road?
Its ace is swimming, but it kills my biceps since they're about 2 inches wide.
the massive one on oxford road!
it gets really fucking busy, though. it's not big enough ....
It has a load of slides in the window doesn't it? So I bet it is quite a nursery at times.
Still, we always long to swim in it when we're on our travels to the academy.
