Anyone got any tips? I have one in the morning for a pretty great job and any pointers would be great!
...shave, dress etc goes down well...
ermmm. Relax. Remember that an interview is as much about you finding if you're right for the job, as it is about them finding if you're right for the job. Read through the JD (if you have access to it) and make clear references to why you are ideally suited, and what relevant experience you could bring to the role. Make sure you're aware what is/isn't on your CV.
and don't be late!
my mate has had a series of amazing, high paid jobs and he says its the key to his success. Makes you seem earthy
Which scarily I do do when I'm nervous!
and like they said try and match your strengths/answers to the job description
make it so that you are interviewing them to see if they are the right company for you. Ask them questions about staff turnover, why they like working there and is the company profitable.
Ask what kind of culture it is regarding quality and quantity vs staying late. Plus pose some hypothetical q's like "if I was to work here...."
I'm going to be well prepared for the interview and I plan to relax as much as possible this evening.
I'm generally OK until I get into the interview and I start shaking and making no sense, well at least that's happened with my last two interviews (although one of those jobs was in London for a stupid amount of money!). I just need to relax more. I've been warned that the people interviewing me will be wearing jeans and a tshirt (or something like that). I'm not sure if that will make me relax more or fuck things up more, but at the same time it means none of this smart dress bollocks if I get the job which I would have thought was fairly unusual for a company that makes computer software.
