Anyone seen it, I'm thinking of getting it out tonight?
lots of plot holes, but fun otherwise.
but quite a large one.
also, david bowie is terrible.
but i enjoyed it.
Bieng a bit of wood is a given really isn't it?
Bowie is the fucking bomb in it you mentalist!
I thought it was brilliant and I bloody love Christian Bale. I'm going to watch The Illusionist tonight in the hope that it might be half as good.
Someone should clearly make a film of Carter Beats the Devil though.
"terrible in it".
But never read it?
into a cocked hat. A magic hat.
it was completely forgettable and very predictable, ive heard its very similar to the prestige
but in a good way.
i thought i had figured it out (the whole cloning/not cloning thing), but ive forgotten now :(
i definately want to see it again though!
has this spoiled the film for me?
its an extremely grey area in the film
there may/may not be cloning involved in the story. i don't know which it is, and neither do you.
there - no-one spoiled anything ;)
Pi was a load of nonsense?
same with his other films
the main twists to it are both kinda bunk basically. it kinda reminded me of when i'd be writing a story in an exam, and then the teacher would go "3 minutes left!" and you think "oh shit" and come up with some ludicrous ending just to try and tie it all up.
The book is better though, but then Christopher Priest is a great writer.
David Bowie was horrendous. That accent and that face.
at least 65x better than the Illusionist.
The latter having the most half-arsed twist in my living memory. How about that twist at the end of Pretty Woman where Richard Gere saves the hot prostitute from a life of pimp-cuttings and ritual abuse? That twist was more edgy, unexpected and out-of-left-field than The Illusionist's twist. It is an anti-twist.
Children of men
I'm pretty stuck
is the best film
really IS the best film
The Departed is good, but probably overrated.
Children Of Men.
I was a wreck by the end of it.
Actually, that dude in the Illusionist was pretty okay; yeah, you know, that guy with the beardface. He looked like a nice rabbit. But he was good.
the Illusionist was a complete pile of wanky pants. the accents...awful. the plot....awful awful awful
the prestige...I liked actually.
Watched it last night. Good film. True.
