Anyone remember this?
Like a Fighting Fantasy/Choose Your Own Adventure book, only on TV!
a true classic of childrens tv
Especially the Alphabet Soup round
i remember that
weird having the details fleshed out like that
had no idea david walliams was involved
i wanted to go on that so much
there i said it.
and the people guiding the person with the helmet?
or was that called dungeons and dragons?
"side step to your right."
roll this dice to see how many hit points I have...
don't forget to equip fireball to your status bar, and use that destroy spell scroll wisely.
Look! An Orc!
*rolls a D20, get's a 1, cries*
I have used the scroll of 'infinite wisdom.' You can re-roll that D20, my lad.
*re-rolls D20, gets another 1, pokes dungeon master in the eye, kicks over table, steps on D4, doubles over in pain*
"ah the mighty one has fallen; scuppered by the D4 of inevitability."
"D I S M I S S"
I'm always down with the D&D scene.
It makes a lot of sense...
It does, doesn't it?
Do you fancy a game of Gorkamorka when we're next in the same place at the same time?
Although I never really played that game much. Man O War, now there was a game. Or Those games of Epic where it took an hour to move all your troops...
Nah, it has to be Blood Bowl!
Can you remember the rules?
I know I sure as hell can.
You better get boning up on the new rules in Living Rulebook 5:
I have played this several times.
From the age of 11 to 16 me and my frineds didn't play a lot else when it was too wet/cold to go outside. Then we discovered drugs and alcohol but Blood Bowl was still played on many an occasion with one or the other.
I've lost my teams though :-(
I may even buy a new High Elf team though, they were by far the best.
Isn't there that place where you can play Blood Bowl online? Could we play each other on that?
with an ogrin and some cute little gimpy goblin people
blood bowl was the only warhammer game that i actually played - just painted the other things
NB I WAS 13
when i was 12 and 13...mostly 40k. I had an amazing Eldar army. I am worryingly beginning to wonder if I miss it.
or woodelves r whatever they were, but eldar were the 40k equivalent
I played Eldar as well, I was also 13 though and they were well good with the really old rules.
it was fantastic. I had everything, all bought over a long time from my hard-saved from my pocket money.
I do miss it :(
working out how long it would take me to save up for various tanks etc
i was so gay
play by email Blood Bowl :D
Give me a day or two and I'll find out the best one and we'll play.
I'm going to recreate my Necromantic team, Knights of the Living Dead :D
I'm actually quite excited now, fuck it the 14 year old in me is doing somersaults.
I'm off to watch Amélie :D
only Warhammer, 40K, and Mordheim.
Just for that giant bit of city you got with it.
indeed! It was good fun. Although, some of my characters had the nasty habit of throwing themselves to their deaths off of buildings. Damn initiative tests.
on my desk next to me
I played Skaven in that, so no trouble jumping off buildings. It's a shame though that they would run away as soon as the opposition sneezed.
Oh god, I think I've played loads and loads of different GW games:
Man O War
I blame my friends having older brothers and buying all this stuff. I also blame living in a village and getting very bored. I also blame myself being a big nerd.
which was both comical and frustrating. I haven't played for ages though. Stuff just sits in my figure cases or gathering dust on the side. :(
Mordheim, Warhammer, Warhammer 40k, Blood Bowl, Battlefleet Gothic, and one whichw as sort of role play-ish and set on a space station.
I was such a geek.
games; couldn't afford it! I reckon I've probably spent a small fortune on the stuff that sits on top of my wardrobe. I checked out the price of stuff the other day, and I felt ill :( It's so expensive now.
I dunno how kids can afford to do it now unless pocket money has increased a lot. I took up a paper round at 14 to feed my habit!
Some of my friends older siblings had a lot of the old stuff, especially Warhammer and Epic so that was handy.
I remember our old Blood Bowl Leagues having about 15 or 16 of us! That was great, and I won a few of them :-D
there were about 6 of us who used to meet at weekends and on friday nights to play; we did league games a few times, which was good fun. I actually got my dad to make a big wooden fold-up battle board as well. Ah,those were the days....
you must have been 5 or 6 when it finished!
Or have you been watching repeats on Challenge TV?
when i was 5 or 6. I think there was some repeats when I was about 8 too.
Is it on Challenge TV?!?!
I was guessing.
I think there used to be stuff repeated on some cable channel...
I simply don't believe you.
TEMPORAL DISRUPTION, TEAM
no-one answer my question!
i hope you all DIE
YOU WERE RIGHT
YOU CAN LIVE
if you'd have clicked on the link I posted up there ^ it would have told you :)
but this comp is the gay and wouldn';t let me see : (
was on Knightmare when he was younger. He was the guy who wore the helmet.
He said it was really rubbish
Shattered a lot of my illusions from childhood
that's pants. I don't believe you. How far did his team get?
and he got left behind/died (do I remember that correctly? If so, that's pretty dark for a kids show.)
CGI circular saw through the chest?
only a few teams actually won didn't they?
I think that was one of the best things about it. Too many kids game shows make things too easy for the kids involved.
I do think I remember a team/some teams winning. But it was extremely rare.
out of the 8 series that were shown.
all they got was an adventure weekend in Wales.
Fright Knight statue.
He fell down a hole, and after the show fell out with the people who were directing him and nmever spoke to them again
