Animal Noises
Hello, have you ever thought about animal noises varying between countries?! Well they do. I have run a study on a Danish and a Cro-at. Here are the results:
It goes - English - Danish - Croatian
A Dog - woof woof - vov vov - vau vau
A Bird - tweet tweet - pip pip - piu piu
A Horse - Neigh - prrrr - njiha
A Sheep - Baa Baa - maehhhh - be be (pronounced like beloved)
A Duck - Quack Quack - rap rap - kva kva
I like how they come in pairs. Anyone who isn't Danish, English or Croatian care to contribute?
X
A French cow says "meuh"
apparently.
Vs our Moooo
thank you Joey.
Apparently the Croatian sheep says 'Be Be' like in BEn not BEloved.
I'm going back to playschool. How long till I can leave this place?
isn't it "meugle beugle"
?
You've been hanging out with some strange cows.
I can't remember what noise French dogs make. I used to know, from reading Tintin. "Wouah"? Dunno.
German dogs go either "Wau" or "Wuff", depending on size and other factors.
Stephen Fry went over dog sounds on QI.
Can't remember them though.
Bow wow.
A thread unto my own!
But I am a bit baffled... What about PAH PAH PAH PAH PAH PAH for a panting dog?
Umm
I was just going for the standard noises of animals in full health. Guess we can add to it...
Choking chicken - SCRAWWWWKKKK
that isn't the sound i normally
associate with choking the chicken
not that kind of chicken
Andrew.

Japanese ones are the best
Dog - wan wan
Cat - nyaa nyaa
Pig - buu buu
Sheep - mee mee
It's always mee mee mee with those sheep, innit?
Bloody sheep.

it's BEEEEE(n) BEEEEEEE(n) in Croatian :)
wan wan?
I think that's pushing it. Is that a yappy small type dog?!
my freind used to say 'tick tack'
instead of 'tick tock' for a clock.
SHe also used to say something ridiculous for a cockeral
"kedkerreee" or something like that....she was sweedish but had live in france for a while.
On a side note
when have you EVER heard a pig go "oink"?
Never! That's when.

I FORGOT.
The English ones are cutest.

DRUM SOUNDCHECKS WOOOOOOOOO
It's okay
I'm leaving in 11 minutes.
Oh by the way
When I was a kid we did this game, parents say an animal, you do the noise etc, but they were always trying to confuse us with odd animals to get comedy answers.
Best examples
mum: "Camel!"
me (aged5):
*pause*
"Hump hump?"
them: uproarous laughter forever
Have some swedish...
Dog - voff
Horse - gnägg
Sheep - bää
Duck - kvack
Pig - grymt
I think Mr Pinkstars has made these up. It's like fake English with umlauts.
The duck sounds good
K..... VACK...
it's almost the same as croatian
KVA KVA
Shouldn't animal noises be the same in all languages? Or do ducks in different countries actually speak different duck sounds? hmmmmmmm
