I'm playing a gig in Liverpool on Wednesday night but need somewhere good to go afterwards. Any suggestions?
Je n'aime PAS le fromage!
If it is go there. If not just go to Heebie Jeebies. Where is the gig?
Is The Magnet any good?
Will have a look at Heebie Jeebies, ta.
Quite chilled and stuff in the week though. The Cavern is on the other side of town of all places suggested so far, the only places round the cavern are clubs like Reflex and Flares.
the International Inn hostel which is on South Hunter street.
Is that a bit closer?
It's very close to the Magnet and some bar across the road called the Bumper which is a bit scene but is alright.
Liverpool FC are also going out in Liverpool this week.
shit. errrrm i've forgotten the name of it.
It's not open on wednesdays either.
I'm not sure I'd want to go anywhere that spelt crazy with a 'K'.
Thrusday night was 'indie' night - and it was two cans of red stripe for the PRICE OF ONE
my mate used to give boys blowjobs out the side door.
she was classy.
It is absolutely woeful. It's so so bad. I got punched there once for no reason.
'Access Denied' from my work computer.
I'm guessing that's not a good thing.
on a Friday night. My friends used to make me go sometimes. WORST PLACE EVER. Expensive, very bad music, everyone is on drugs, it is to loud to talk and it's full of scallies.
We're talking about the gay club, right?
It became 'the place to be' a couple of years ago. Then scallies flocked in. That might only be at the weekend though.
That was my fave haunt - and HeebeeJeeBees on a Monday night - this was 1994-1999 though. Actually everywhere was good barring the Students Guild 'funnily' enough
it's liquidation every saturday night, also my favourite haunt. Didn't realise it had been going so long. Pretty much the only place to go in Liverpool on a saturday.
I've only been there the once, for their 5th birthday.
It used to be at Hardys, which is called 'Streets' or something - in Hardman Street? Danyn from ladytron used to DJ every saturday with his Japanese wife and I got 'involved' in a John Moores Liverpool uni 'stand off' one night as I got kicked out of a band that was made up of Poly students - it was quite pathetic looking back.
Its been going since 93 I think.
I don't remember that at all.
in Liverpool aren't great and no Le Bateau is Friday and Saturday. Go to bars and avoid The Blue Angel. Heebie Jeebies isn't that great. I like ca va or lago. Magnet's ok.
Is that the indiecation one?
Make a stop at the Jacaranda on the way. possibly heebies if you've got time. Upstairs if its a nice night, basement if its pissing down.
They're both on the run from Korova to Le bateau.
Also CaVa. nextdoor the Krazyhouse. tequila=£1 Your night=fucked from the start
Thanks very much
I think I had the baked beans one once.
Somebody already mentioned the bean-flavoured tequila phenomenon.
I am really passe.
and 'Crash' at John Moore's Union - meat markets for Shed 7 fans in cords really
though it was good 'in them days'!
with the Stuart Sutcliffe murals in the basement! that place was ace - actually slaters was ok if the 'Jac' was crowded. Also the Black horse and Rainbow was 'alright'
At a uni interview, couldn't understand a damn word anyone was saying!
and I annoyed the girl behind the counter as I kept politely asking her what she was saying. Oh dear.
Liverpool is the best City in England to go to University PROLEFACT
I wish I went there instead of Chester, seeing as I ended up there most weekends anyway.
but there you go, you can never go back (well i have loads of times, but you know what I mean!)
Those were the days
called Cava that sells baked bean-flavoured tequila.
