is a bad film
also: it's a LOT better than shaun of the dead.
it was filmed in england's smallest city...it can't lose.
'Have you ever dived through the air with two guns?'
'What about with one?'
I bet everyone who likes Catherine Tate likes it.
catherine tate is like aids in televisual form.
'shaun of the dead' is far, far better.
I hated Shaun Of The Dead.
isnt very good, hot fuzz is better, but still not amazing
it was WAY too hyped to ever please me tho.
i have NO hype at all behind me!
shaun of the dead lost it towards the end and seemed very unfocused.
Ergo she is rub. And her career is based on relentlessly mocking the working class.
Simon Pegg's face is too small which is why he needs a goatee to look alright. But his career isn't based on mercilessly attacking an already downtrodden underclass.
Also, Quentin Tarantino held a private screening of Shaun of the Dead at his house to show his director buddies how it should be done.
Did he do that for your beloved Coldplay video? I think not.
Not even close to being as good as spaced.
so your gramatical implications are illogical
it's very good with plenty of laughs.
i prefer shaun of the dead but thats because i can be a bit of a horror geek so it touched me in two special places
in two special places?
i argue series 2.
I think they have created a comedy film which is appealing to all sectors of the demographic. There are some phenomenal scenes where the writing and acting is just superb. But the main plaudit that can be launched in their direction is that its is downright entertaining.
Sometimes when I go to the cinema I begrudge paying the ludicrous ticket charges, but at the same time I would quite happily see this film again.
Also, there are no points to be earned for taking a dislike to everything. I know it's easy to jump on a bandwagon or become pessimistic about everything but do yourself a favour and lighten up. This is directed at no one in particular but this board has its fair share of grumps.
as I dislike Spaced and Pegg 'n' Frost. Even though Pegg is good in some things.
His stuff never makes me laugh that much. Its just kind of "ha ha..."
Ive not seen shaun of the dead, but it looks kinda crap.
"throw the record at him!
*insert bad record here*"
*laughter and applause*
I just dont get what's so funny. And why would you parody cop films now? Its already been done and so much better (naked gun)
How can you say something has been done better when you have not seen both films in your comparison?
Did you care to realise that the two films have varying contexts? Hot Fuzz is based in the UK and that is the deal broker for me. Policing methods vary worldwide therefore creating the scope for varying projects based on the same premise.
The trailer's look crap, though.
Finally, the truth comes out :o)
Personally, it's one of the most enjoyable film experiences this year thus far, with only Pan's Labyrinth topping it.
There's a new film starring Pegg coming to big screen this year, so I'm guessing that won't be your bag either?
Maybe I just don't "get" it. I just don't find it very "challenging".
it's a fucking film written by some guy who is just making jokes to amuse himself and his fat friend. I find the way you look at film and television slightly odd. almost as though you hold back from watching shows/films that aren't intelligent.
I can't find something funny unless theres at least some depth behind it. I don't find some guy slipping on a banana skin funny, unless theres context or skill or something.
its slapstick or something when its really not.
just out of interest what films have you actually found funny?
Cop film: hilarious.
It has cop film parodies and references, great comedy acting, good writing and slapstick that IS funny.
give it a go at least.
admittedly Naked Gun is better, but then it is one of the funniest films EVA, so it would be pretty hard to top :D
its no spy hard
Though i can't really get excited about it from what i've seen of "spaced" and bits of shaun of the dead.
relentless jokes though, it is funny mind.
I didnt really lol that much during hot fuzz, they arent really that funny, plus i think spaced shit, but its still an enjoyable movie to watch, good way to spend an hour and a half
entertaining rather than challenging, but im guessing if you dont like the trailer you probably wont like the film
It doesn't have to be challenging to be entertaining, but that's enough ground to dislike something, sure. That's why I mentioned it being suitable for all areas of the population though, that's one of its main plus points. You sound like a penitent person though.
all the time
will you do the reading out stuff in between thing please?
I laughed my arse off!!
Anyone seen my arse?
