Everyone's getting fucking ready for it.
This depresses me a lot.
I love anti-ballistic defence systems which reference 70's sci-fi. There should be more of them.
40% say yes to "Should 'Son of Star Wars' defence system be located in the UK?"?? Who are these people?
reading it back it doesn't even make sense
and there are a few more I can't remember.
i'm sure he loves destruction and stuff.
i cannae believe that blair has actually lobbied for it. he loses even more legacy points from that.
who are the americans scared of? rather: who are the americans not scared of?
good point. i will use this in arguments in the future.
I wish we'd had WW3 just to stop people going on about it - this sort of thing crops up every ten years or so - I think things are better than they were in 1948 or 1962/68/82/85
from north korea and iran's vast ICBM arsenal, obv.
even though, y'know, missiles from north korea or iran probably wouldn't travel near the UK.
either want to attack the UK?
the big risk that we face is nuclear weapons falling into the hands of parastatal groups, surely?
to defend themselves. not the uk. so they can blow the shit out of somewhere from an easier place.
to america re: nuclear weapons is that they fall into the hands of parastatal groups too .... there is no country that wants to launch nuclear missiles at the US.
so... the whole point is.... that it's pointless. it's just paranoid scaremongering. it's like some old man sitting outside his house on the porch, suckin on a big cigar while holding his rifle and shooting anything that moves. just in case.
you've got to remember that the arms industry is a huge employer in some parts of america, and many towns are company towns based around a defence plant.
it's probably a combination of economics and scaremongering.
but we shouldn't be paying for US defence industry jobs ...
say we'll be paying for it?
"We'll be paying for it"
but they "might" want to "attack" the US, and this system is designed to be a part of their defence network.
but, yes. a much more likely threat would be from a nuclear weapon in the hands of a terrorist group, and being set off from a warehouse somewhere in downtown manhattan...
need weapons. just nuclear material with a conventional bomb could do enormous damage.
Those things are rurbish.
why are they 'rurbish'?
Almost all the damage is done by the conventional bomb. The nuclear material is just dispersed over the immediate area and becomes a bit of a nuisance to clean up. Deaths from radiation poisoning would be minimal or non-existent.
This is what I've been led to believe anyway.
and my limited physics.
in pigfuck, usa happy somehow.
DEY TURK URR JAWBS!
the american's already have stuff over here it's nothing new. we scouted round a complex in Leeds that the US just set up yonks ago where actually inside it is American law of the land so you can get shot and everything. it's a massive communications tower which listens in on everything and then the government buys back this information from the US even though it was gathered in the UK*
*this was all told to me by a friend, but I wanted to believe it so did.
for example. About 10 miles north of Leeds. Or is that where you meant?
I don't know whether to be happy that my friend wasn't bullshitting or desperately sad that this kind of thing happens.
I'm going with desperately sad as it's Friday so my mood is bound to pick up soon.
flew a hot air balloon over it when he found out the airspace was not restricted;
it and opened up the box, using the fragments of battery power available and within moments was getting threatened.
that's more scary....
he is a man of vision and a fall fan.
tattooed on my tongue
Read the stuff about suitcase bombs
America is implementing its New American Century strategy and preparing itself for possible war with China over control of the worlds trade etc. Our children or at least their children will be wretched hideous mutoids scavenging the cursed earth for chunks of Quorn, like commandercool
