834. New York Hostel

don_swayze [Edit] [Delete] 11 replies 13:39, 15 February '07

Can anyone recommend a good (cheap) one?

Also, any body got any good New York hints, tips, suggestions of things to see or do?

I've stayed at the international hostel on Amsterdam Avenue and at the Chelsea International Hostel - they're B and C on this list: http://www.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&q=youth+hostel&near=New+York,+NY,+USA&sa=X&oi=local&ct=title

Both of them are good, and cheap. Depends where in town you want to be - the stretch of Broadway up by W 106th is pretty cool, in a low-key way.

as well. it's nice, a lot less hectic than lower manhattan as well.

      • yep

i stayed at that one the first time i went. v basic, but fine. careful with the metro though, if you get an express train by mistake you'll end up with a walk of about 20 blocks which can be a little scary at night.
