We're gonna wipe the floor with you. Fact.
Im going to see "us" play wales next week. "We" better make up for that shocking display against england.
supporting scotland yesterday was a bit embarrasing. hopefully "we" pick things up and get decent results in the other games.
today i'll go for ireland to win.
for my prediction to start coming true.
2 tries scored from 2 attempts, despite being on the backfoot for much of the game.
The mark of a great team ^
I really meant 3...
And THAT'S how it's done. :)
It was pretty good, but we (Wales) without henson, williams, jones and thomas, couldn't put away our chances, and I always felt Ireland would punish us for that.
Hook was not as good as expected....SO HAPPY IRELAND WON!! very very happy....P.S. did anyone else see the irish guy who looked like he had a bel end for a head?
Ireland are going to destroy!!
Two teams going at each other hammer and tongs, to the end the pace didn't drop at all. Every player on that pitch did themselves proud. And now Wales are out of the way, I shall no longer have to listen to Mr J Davies' one eyed rants and whinges. Just Brian Moore's!
Also for the ledger, Denis Hickie, what a legend!
I saw two teams play largely shit rugby. On the plus side Ireland never looked like conceding a try but that would have been different had Wales had their first choice backline.
However, will be different when Ireland come up against a team that can actually tackle. I predict Ireland to lose next weekend
Wales were fielding a 2nd choice back line I agree, but should have scored in the 1st half with all that pressure and also when we were denied a clear penalty (and a sin binning) in the 2nd half when Easterby tackled Czecki without the ball in the corner.
Ireland looked very ordinary for the supposed 2nd best team in the world. Wales outplayed them for much of the game, but couldn't convert their pressure. Ireland had three chances and scored three times.
As for J Davies being one -eyed, thats rich when Keith Wood paints the whole field green when Ireland play
you only have to listen to Wood at the end of the game, where as we have to put up with Davies bleating like a tortued sheep for 80 minutes!
...so missed the commentary. I really rate Davies as an analysier. Knows his stuff. He is of course a little biased, but who wouldn't be in the same position?!?
Do you have any response to my other points raised with regards to yesterdays match?
and that the glorious Keith has nowt to do with it?
You knew what I meant, maybe I should have said "paints the field Emerald" or something
in terms of analysis the man's the nuts, one of the greatest 10s to have ever played the game, and I respect his opinions. It's just when he's commentating he forgets he's being paid by an unbiased organisation and goes into full on fan mode. Brian Moore is the same, but it's quite funny listening to Brian Moore get himself into a kerfuddle, especially when England are losing.
In terms of the game itself, I think that both teams gave absolutely everything they had, and no one can really be faulted on their performance. It was incredible to watch. I felt when Ireland turned it on, Wales didn't look like they could cope. Sadly that wasn't too often. Murphy added a lot when he came on and D'Arcy was simply awesome.
Wales were ravaged by injury and but that team gave a fantastic account of itself. Ryan Jones was terrific, and it was really noticable to the team when he went off.
I think the start and the atmosphere went to Ireland's head. Having been to a game at the Mil Stad it can blow you away, and I think ireland got suckered in to playing Wales' game not theirs. We look v nervous in the first half, but improved after the break.
Easterby was a disgrace, I can't stand the man. Much rather have Best in there.
but there's no use whinging about it. We got into scoring positions and did nothing whereas Ireland took their chances well. If we can get Shanklin, Jones & S.Williams back into our three-quarters there's no reason why we can't go on to have a decent tournament.
Can't see anyone stopping Ireland unless the French have one of those days.
it was a good game, both sides deserved to do well. there were three points in the first half where wales were on the brink of scoring before getting a foul and chose to kick.
i think everyone except the welsh are the winners as it was a great game.
i prefer the welsh to ireland though.
