was photographing at a gig tonight. Was told first half hour then no more photos but that a guy from the Herald had permission to shoot for the night as the Herald were sponsoring the festival. All very well but after the first half hour me and a German woman stopped photographing and the guy from the Herald continued but so did another guy and then another guy showed up. I asked one of them who he was shooting for and he said Chemikal Underground. The other guy seemed to have just shown up saying he was shooting for one of the bands. I got talking to the stage manager and brought this up. The guy from the Herald left and the guy who had just shown up was shown the door. As he was getting ready to set up his camera he started fucking with the scenery and knocked over an eighteen foot stage prop into the audience, hitting people. He was visibly distressed and I calmed him down by saying to him 'you're going to jail for that'. He was then kicked out. It ended up only the guy from CU taking photos for the rest of the gig which was not part of the original deal
So am I a telltale tit and should I have just sat there fuming with my camera packed while others took photos they weren't entitled to ? I wasn't wanting them stopped, I was wanting parity and had my own camera unpacked and ready to start shooting again when I brought it up
Am I going into the DiS solitary confinement block for my own protection ?
