Rooney's goal.

IrishMagpie [Edit] [Delete] 37 replies 20:16, 27 January '07

Waow. Did anyone see it? One of the goals of the season. Great game. Campbell was immense. I'm pissed off Newcastle didn't sign him..

Yeah, it was a great goal.

I was hoping that Vidic's 'goal' was gonna come back and haunt United as revenge for Pedro Mendes' goal that never was a couple of seasons back.

  • I thought

in general temrs this was one of the most boring games i've ever seen on television.

The first 10 minutes seemed promising, what with a penalty appeal and a goal, but the bbc commentary team bored the bollocks off me til i decided to listen to it on the radio, missing rooneys first in the process.

Larsson's goal was also not offside!

I thought campbell was solid against larsson and solksjaer but his "barge like fuck" policy didnt really wash w ith the stronger and faster rooney approach.

  • it wasnt that good!

campbell was fucking insane. as was evra to a lesser extent. best two black defenders to play in that game? i think so.

ji-sung park highlight of the game though

    • ji sung park

was a poor mans ronaldo today, no end product and not half as fun to watch.

he'll be a fantastic player once he gets an end product though

      • yeh

he cant shoot. but then no south korean can. honestly, i remember when they went out of the 2002 world cup. completely outclassed there opponents. couldnt get goals. dozens of shots going over.
but in the villa game parks performance was on a par with any of ronaldos

          outclassed their opponents in 2002???

          BULLSHIT!

          • nothing at all

what does being in that game have to do with it?

            Jordan_229_2 @joshua_t | 27 Jan '07, 21:19 | X
            • to be fair

you made two posts in a row, both could be interpretted the wrong way

              elainepaige @Jordan_229_2 | 27 Jan '07, 21:34 | X
              • i guess

but then anything can be interpreted the wrong way. saying they were the two best black defenders was a way of getting out of someone saying Vidic or Neville, like saying 'in the game' gets me out of arguements from chelsea fans

                Jordan_229_2 @elainepaige | 27 Jan '07, 21:47 | X
                • no

there were no other black defenders playing to there standard in that game

                  • Bloody Man U

Always on the TV when the cups on.

                    • are you pissed off Newcastle didn't sign Rooney or Campbell?

because Rooney was never going to sign for the Barcodes. St James Park is the graveyard of ambition, full of mercenaries; I'm suprised they didn't snare Lucas Neil on 100k a week at the last minute. It's what their fans deserve.

Great goal by Rooney, but he must live a life of self-loathing. 'Once a Blue always a Blue.'

                      • Rooney scored a very good goal

but I note that in yesterday's FA Cup games, there were even better ones scored by David Nugent of Preston and Scott Sinclair of Plymouth. And Murray's equaliser for Bristol City was pretty neat too.

                          murrays goal was a bopper

                      • True.

Since the summer of 2003 there has been nothing but bullshit from the club. Although for 2 seasons we were awesome.

And then there was the Keegan years...which ended a few weeks after Shepherd took over...how ironic....

                          has.....southampton hiring souness!!

                          • Souness appointing Boumsong

                            as a centre-back.

                            • souness

signing someone who was meant to be george weahs cousin but was a two bit non league player!

                              Tuco @IrishMagpie | 28 Jan '07, 15:50 | X
                              • also

when souness managed in turkey and after winning a game, running onto the pitch and planting his teams flag into the centre circle of their local rivals....causing a huge riot!

                                Tuco @Stivovo | 28 Jan '07, 15:53 | X
                                • Don't forget Luque.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure he was involved in a dodgy transfer, probably the Boumsong deal. Who pays £8m for someone who was signed on a free 6 months earlier? And also, Rangers is an old team of Souness....

                                  Gotta be something dodgy there.
