Anyone been? I am looking at flights to go to Sweden in March.
Any tips on Sweden?
same time tomorrow.
I think the readers might be able to tell.
That is all.
cos i'm having a party then
so will be around for your bday, m'dear...
would be trying Norway, Finland and the northern tip of Denmark first.
If those are 'cool' and 'totally breakbeat-tastic', then you'll probably like Sweden.
Anschul von Brandenburg.
That's my tip on Sweden!
However if we were in the same city I'd probably seek him out!
this is a serious thread.
just to be extra serious.
Oh no! there's a comedy fake nose attached to them!
with your 'comedy' glasses, there's going to be trouble.
i get 'the sign' by ase of base as covered by mountain goats stuck in my head.
I've never been to sweden, sozzle, but i imagine it's quite similar to norway, which i like and has lived in.
My Tip: Don't wash your hair in glacier water, however romantic it might seem. It hurts like actual hell.
to gothenburg for a long weekend a couple of years ago. was really ace. the people are soooo friendly, it's a really clean place, nice bars, couple of decent clubs... and the have little casinos/blackjack tables in EVERY bar/pub/club.
i heartily recommend it Ms.Rose!
Considering I have one, I know surprisingly little about Sweden.
But they do not like the party so much.
who's from Gothenburg. Naturally, he claims it's a shit hole.
I've only been in summer when theres lots on, including one of the worlds biggest junior football tournaments which has a lot of things going on alongside it.
It is a bit of a shithole in places but get yourself out to the islands SW of the city, around saltholmen, its really nice out there with quaint little old houses and nice beaches and stuff, but probably a bit cold for swimming!
as to nightlife i have no tips, i only remember ending up in a scary metal bar and leaving pretty quickly! Oh and being recommended a great club which we discovered on our walk home was a strip bar!
not been to Gothenburg itself but I have spent time in southern Sweden and I love the place. Beautiful countryside, late night bars with music, little threat of violence except for any British that you might meet over there, lovely. Booze isn't cheap, but then we were spending a lot of time cooking and getting drunk before we went out, the tendency seemed to be not to leave the house until pretty late.
In short - lovely
to Gothenburg several times (my brother used to live there and his wifes from there) and it's a really cool city, laid back, clean. These enough touristy stuff to keep you ocupied for a few days. And I when to and indie club that played the best selection of tunes i've ever heard compared to uk clubs. (no idea what it's called though)
So yeah it's a good place to go.
But Malmo and Stockholm were ase of spades.
is the best. as is denmark.
norway, on the other hand, is average. Oslo is the dullest place I've been in a while, and nigh on impossible to get drunk in, unless ur Bill Gates. A bottle of cheap plonk is approximately £25. cunts!
scandinavia is brilliant though!
i love norway in terms of its landscapes & scenery, the far north is stunning as is the west coast around bergen. but i prefer sweden in terms of general vibe and entertainments and stuff.
but I know that alcohol in bars is very expensive and off licences close early
