Is there such a thing as a flattering swimsuit? Where can I get one?
what exactly do you want to flatter?
my thighs are huge.
This is my main concern. I would also like to feel streamlined and not slightly dumpy.
I think it would be best to draw attention to my breasts as they are pretty great.
i have really rubbish, pale thighs, and er, my only advice is: don't wear a thong. or no! don't wear really tight bikini pants. shorts can be nice, i suppose. i think colour is more important, but that's just because i'm massively pale and look rly lame in most swimsuits.
drawing attention to your breasts?
i rate her boobies 10
Unfortunately, I think I think swimming in a swimming pool is silly in a bikini which ties up.
This was a silly topic to bring here.
i've not worked out whether dark > light yet. Is it the other way round? I don't like swimming when other people can see me :(
My bikini is brown and blue, it's amazing.
I don't really like swimming, whether people can see me or otherwise. But I really must start doing some exercise, and swimming before work is oddly appealing.
It is either that or I buy a bike... which might be stage two of get fit.
a brown bikini doesn't sound very nice.
I should probably leave this thread now.
I said I was going.
i seem to remember you being quite pale, but i am REALLY pale. And freckly. Plus my hair is light brown so brown things tend to make me look TOO brown.
HMMMMM. I think i'll go for this after all: http://www2.raisport.rai.it/news/sport/nuoto/200005/14/391e969300702/IanThorpe3.jpg
so my contribution to this thread hasn't been a complete disaster.
and freckly. and brown haired. But I think I look good in chocolate coloured things.
i'll try, it's sure to be better than the neon orange number i'm sporting just now (srsly)(not right now)(when i go swimming)(which is never, because of my hideous swimsuit)
that has never actually occured to me until now, so I can take something away from this thread, thank you. Get a brown swimsuit.
that I'm adding them to my interests.
I'm still unconvinced.
best I could do due to filters was a brown and bluematernity swimsuit. Downer.
but this might be what you're looking for:
that's prompted this question.
and it depends on your figure / shape...
very flattering and will slim down the hips and also accentuate the boobies.
I know what I'm looking for.
It's finding it which is the issue.
As is practicality.
Or - there is a store on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill that only sells swimwear.. it's pricey but depends on how desperate you are.
i can warn you, that the lame bodysuit is not designed for swimming, and will deteriorate in chlorinated water.
the actual swimming costumes though are very nice! and will be in the shops all year...
retro is the way forward.
i used to have one of those! It was ace. purple with orange spots on. awwwww
get one of them fake shark fins to go on your back. You'll look super-sleak :-)
they are of all shapes and sizes in the Speedo shop in Covent Garden. And they're proper sporty one for actually swimming in.
mine was £18.
Topshop has some lovely ones in, as do peacocks.
I wouldn't know, as I never like to inflict the sight of my scantily clad body upon anyone.
I feel ashamed of myself when people see more flesh than they need to.
telling someone else not to be ridiculous? WHO'D A THUNK?
are you saying?
i am never ridiculous. i'm the apotheosis of rational sobriety.
insecure ... i've been misunderstood
bikinis on the la redoute website, but I don't know about this time our year. They do the 'boy cut' type bottoms that cover up your bum a bit and aren't high legged. H&M do those nice shorts and top sets, but again, this time of yr is a nightmare to find good swimwear!
get high cut leg, don't wear the shortie style if you are worried about your thighs, it just huges them up.
vertical stripes/swooshes are good, if you're going to be swimming in it and want your bobs to look good underwiring or at least a 'support shelf' are a good idea.
I bought a maternity swimsuit last week, tonight I aquabump woohoo!
I mean boobs of course
I however have big hips and a fairly big ass, but thinish thighs and small boobs so I'm not the best person to advise other body types on swim wear. Wow, the way I just described myself makes me sound positively deformed.
who wears swimsuits as opposed to bikinis? My friends laugh at me.
I used to wear bikinis for sunbathing. But I decided sunbathing was stupid about 5 years ago. So now I just have them in my drawer.
