Derived from 'Association' Football. Saying it's an American corruption is lazy. LAZY, DAMN YOU.
fuck you for making me feel small.
It's the only fact I know. So I feel compelled to use it whenever I can. I love you really!
I also know that if you bury a man in fifteen feet of cement, he will die.
at such a young age in his career as well.
This makes me sad.
Good move for him though, I guess. Probably paying just as much as Real are, English speaking country, gets to live in celebville...
His names Davey Beckham and you pay him too!
They had a salary cap, but they relaxed it so they can attract greedy European league players.
MLS pays $400,000 of his salary a year, and MLS pay whatever else on top of that he agreed to (probably a lot!)
But doesn't their salary cap system allow for the odd exception?
beckham is, quite rightly, an exception.
I would have liked to have seen him back in the Premiership.
it's the first time they have signed a world class player, if not AT the peak of his career not too far away from it.
"Pele! Pele you fool!"
But, of course, that wasn't MLS
for Beckham as well.
If he had come back for say Portsmouth etc it would look like he was winding down his career and finishing it with a lesser team.
Now he has the chance to finish his career and advance football in America.
Pretty much perfect.
he has much interest in advancing football in America.
Half a million per week. Have I done my maths right?
"The 31-year-old former England captain will sign a five-year deal, reportedly worth £128m."
only £492,307.69 per week
why does he need that sort of money? Why not come back to England for a couple of years and prove how good you are? A right wimp
he's made a choice that is based on business and for the benefit of his long term career (HELLO! futher media options in america) so you can't blame him for doing it.
especially when cashley cole goes against his boyhoood club for an extra £30k a week.
he would come back to England to prove how good he was and shut some people up, being a bit idealistic
and he didn't even five years ago?
Why would you return to the Premiership (a league that he has already proved himself in) to a club like Bolton, or maybe Newcastle for a season or two?
At this stage in his career he doesn't need to prove himself anymore. Like fullerov rightly said, this way he'll get to be more of a star than he already is. And let's be honest, him and Posh were never going to turn down the opportunity of living in LA
I just wanted to see him back in the Premiership, and I am constantly horrified by the amount of money in transfer deals
£500,000 a week
"After considering several options to stay in Madrid or join other major British and European teams, I have decided to join LA Galaxy."
