I've read 20 pages and I already want to melt into every word he writes.
the great gatsby for 10 years, I hope he wrote or else i've just made myself look foolish.
the great gatsby = my favourite book
I also like THE DIAMOND AS BIG AS THE RITZ as one of his clever short stories...
but i like it
gatsby is one of the greatest novels ever. ver, VER good.
cant get into Tender Is The Night.
but did think the story was kinda cool... would make a good Hollywood Blockbuster movie in a sense.
Gatsby is wonderful... it reminds me of my friends country cottage and lying on the lawn, reading, in the summer sun......
took me a while to get into it but NOW I LOVE it.
by Will Self
ive read it twice before and fancied reading it again.
i really like it...but im not really sure why.
does that sulter enough?
is on my reading list this term. I'll let you know what I think in a few weeks.
is unbearable. The Great Gatsby IS good. I file him among authors of 'one good work' - alongside Heller, Golding, etc.
Is The Night, but that's because I read it at exactly the wrong post-break-up moment, and fell fully for all that wistful, glamorous heartbreak. I know it's not actually that great, really. Sigh. Bits of it are fabulous, though, particularly when they tire of the beach resort they've fostered.
I also had juvenile trouble suppressing my sniggers about a leader character called Dick Diver. Note to self: grow up.
Some of the most poetic, memorable prose I've ever read. The only book from A-Level Eng Lit not completely ruined by over-analysing it.
In other news, I just realised A-Level English Lit was 10 years ago. Fuck, I'm old.
