This looks awsome -
so when your white headphones give you away as an obvious mugging target, they get your phone AND your mp3 player AND your pda in one easy snatch! yay!
what i thought.
sad really. its nice but id be terrified someone would mug me for it.
wonder how much itll cost though.
could be a different kind of mugging.
I'll stick to a phone with a battery that will last the full day, thanks.
..another piece of beautiful Apple technology that I will covet but be unable to afford. If societye has taught me anything, its that now is the time to turn to violent crime to get what I want.
just realise that in six-twelve months Apple will release a successor, thus all the zealots will sell on their old ones for a fraction of what they paid for them, and you can score a bargin.
but does it come in pink?
that cures aids.
WAP phones with MP3, web browsing and a camera are available dirt cheap. This doesn't even have a camera.
Does it? Am I being thick?
on my bus in the morning beavering away using them to plan their lives.
which, sadly, is what i'm going to get.
i use to it to play bubble blaster on!
so i presume it is cameratastic
2.0 megapixels. Not bad.
OK, I admit it. I need one of these like I need oxygen.
I'm happy enough with a seperate Ipod and phone. If the iPhone breaks/gets robbed that 2 things you have to replace
BETTER and MORE COMPLETE and HAPPIER and STUFF and all the COOL KIDS will LIKE YOU and WANT TO BE YOUR FRIEND!
this advertising lark is a doddle, isn't it?
safety conscious. Just like me.
you'll also be THINNER and HAVE A GREAT LOFT APARTMENT and a CONVERTIBLE and LAUGHS A PLENTY
to the BEACH with YOUR FRIENDS while you listen to HIP TUNES.
plus a VW VAN with NO RUSt and loads of HOT SURFER BABES laughing at YOUR JOKES
This would make things really a lot easier all round for me. Bluetoothing data / music / pictures etc back and forth to my computer, no longer needing a camera, phone and ipod: it's all in one - mobile web browsing, no need for web cafes any more - being able to find things out and check email on the move - constant access to sites like streetmap -
curious as to how humanity survived for centuries without them!
but then i realised how pointless it all was.
you're not a "tech-savvy urbanite". doy.
the M25 now.
the only thing you'll want constant access to is a plug.
i like the idea but don't like the look of it. and i bet it sells for about £400 so there's no chance in HELL i'll ever be able to afford one.
the prospect of the nokia n95 far more exciting - 5mp camera!
humanity is doomed.
for your use of the word "apartment".
that a 'flat' has no hallway between rooms. SORRY.
you yuppie gitbag.
I need to be able to pick up e-mails while travelling
It also means I can get rid of my personal mobile so I won't have to carry around two phones all the time. MMM.
you could just buy a regular phone and a nice camera
but which one? there's too much choice. TOO MUCH.
And all of a sudden you have pockets full of devices and tangles of chargers and blah blah - this is everything in one.
but i have a 20gb zen.
even with such a swanky phone i would probably still take out my mp3 player because it has so much more on it.
I have a 4gb iPod nano. My old iPod died and so the did the "all my music anywhere anytime I want it" dream. SO I'm getting used to just prioritising and streamlining down what's on it and predicting what I might want to hear. The smaller choice is actually good in some ways as you wind up listening to things you might not have had you been able to pick anything ever.
i loves it. i must've dropped it about a dozen times now and it still works fine.
but I'd rarely take my camera out without reason and I don't take my iPod with me if I'm going to the pub cause I've had jackets robbed before.
otherwise what's the point in owning it.
but then I realised that most of the time I didn't need it. I don't need an iPod if I'm meeting up with friends.
I think things were probably a dream if I didn't flickr them.
of my mates always seem to have cameras with them. I'd rather not document most of my evenings.
I'm not sure what I was expecting.
It looks quite big, though.
I realise PDA phones are that sort of size but I'll wait for one with less bells and whistles the same size as my K750i.
And then still won't bother paying extra to own it.
Theo doesn't want an iPhone.
apple zealots appear to have dropped one over the iPhone.
I bet they open their eggs by smashing the top.
anymore. i don't see a way in which this will improve my life. i'd rather spend the money on new CDs.
simply put, i just don't NEED it.
I'd probably take it. I like my Sony Ericsson because it has great battery life and it's very small and fits into my pocket.
I couldn't fit an iPod into my jeans pocket or rather if I did the chances of me being able to remove it to answer it are zero.
I don't want a fucking P800/900 for similar reasons, btw.
those Russell Brand stylee skinny jeans
The only pockets I ever have reliably are in my jeans.
Otherwise I put the phone in the phone pocket of my bags (which also only seem to take slim phones).
It's not an anti-Apple thing. Give it a year and there'll be a slimmer one.
*pokes Jack with iStick*
my strategy for buying a phone:
me: hi! please sell me the cheapest pay as you go phone you have, and don't try to sell me anything else because it won't work.
shop monkey: right this way, sir!
Because if so no one's ever going to have any reception to make a cunting call with it...
you can just use your diary to set a reminder to call them from on your skype phone when you're back in your pad.
I'm on T-Mobile and the reception is fine.
I'm also on Yahoo mail (via BT Yahoo).
It's like they made it JUST FOR ME.
I'm surprised they didn't go with gmail though, it's obviously the most advanced webmail.
once gmail makes its mobile software available to UK networks you can just install that and bingo, gmail on your crappy status symbol for a couple of hours before the battery dies.
This is a very, very useful looking device. Mac isn't about status symbol crap. Mac stuff just works better and looks better and does everything you might want and is a pleasure to use. "Status symbol" pft.
This is the way the world is heading. Multifunction devices will become as normal as a friggin TV.
Apple are just pushing it along.
It was the IPOD that really pushed the MP3 market and made other companies get their act together.
I thought that excluded iPods after yours only lasted two years?
Lesson: take out that insurance.
How much does the insurance cost anyway?
It was only a few quid.
its a general problem with mp3 players more than anything it seems. and for the record, i have plenty of friends with iPods that have survived for 2 or 3 years and counting
I would only expect such a device to last two years but John had been expecting it to last 5 or more years and expressed his annoyance about that in an earlier thread.
My mate bought a contract and he lives in Uxbridge, hardly the middle of frigging nowhere...but he had to cancel it as there was no reception there.
I used to be on Virgin which was utterly awful.
T-Mobile contracts are the best. They're the best because their network is shit. Vodafone have the best coverage, hence they don't offer the consumer much because they know businesses/people are paying them for connection.
I get 1000 free mins
Also for an extra £5 a month between 4 of us (all on voda) we get to make as many calls as we like for free ANYTIME.
Last time I checked, comparative to the other providers, their's was well below the standards of the other networks.
And I'm on T-Mobile.
Them's the facts.
But everyone gets their network blinking in and out on trains, right?
I've almost never had a reception problem.
The only place that I remember was in Wensleydale but up in that valley only Orange has reception.
I occasionally go to other cities!!!!!!!!
Reception is generally good in London but even there, in places that are below ground a little or similar, you'll often find T-Mobile users can't get reception but Voda/O2 users can.
T-Mobile has the BEST coverage! Your information is questionable!
"T-Mobile is a GSM 1800 network. They are now catching up with their competitors, but their coverage area is not quite as wide as that of the others."
And it's not just area. Like I say I find it's down inside buildings and in rehearsal rooms under railway lines and such. They just don't have the same level of coverage.
I publicly doubt the validity of your claim!
The fact remains that I'm right! :D
It's like some kind of gift.
I just upgraded my phone y'day anyhoo.
But yeah, when it's free, GIMME GIMME GIMME A PHONE AFTER MIDNIGHT
Pretty much all my reservations about the product are covered.
seriously, i love it. in the words of my friend this morning 'i am going to buy one purely so i can thrust myself with it'
he's a boy
and beautiful, and the interface seems so wonderfully well-designed...
...but I don't think it's for me at the moment. Limited battery life and relatively small hard drive is going to mean it wouldn't really fill the function of stopping you needing a phone and an ipod/music making device... and it'll depend on what network it comes out on over here... and stuff.
obviously it lasts a lot longer when you arent talking to people.
I think as long as your phone can do an ATP on one charge then it's clearly good enough. :D
