this is proof to me that many american kids have no creativity in their entire bodies. But it is very very funny.
But this one's my fave:
"He was as tall as a six-foot, three-inch tree."
'She grew on him like she was a colony of E. Coli, and he was room-temperature Canadian beef.'
This is not 'bad' writing. It is genuinely funny.
From the attic came an unearthly howl. The whole scene had an eerie, surreal quality, like when you’re on vacation in another city and Jeopardy comes on at 7:00 p.m. instead of 7:30.
they make you write something and then put it on the internet!?! I remember GCSE english being FORCED to write a poem and it was so embarrassing, I'd be devastated if a teacher did this to me.
as soon as people find out you're 'a poet' - I can do it, but usually it's just a source of great embarrassment for all and sundry, because most of my stuff involves leaping about and shouting.
16. John and Mary had never met. They were like two hummingbirds who had also never met.
of a Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy quote?
In the book, he writes "they [the vogon ships] floated in the air exactly like bricks don't.
And I swear the last one is from Futurama.
-i think that's really good!
this is the best by far...
Long separated by cruel fate, the star-crossed lovers raced across the grassy field toward each other like two freight trains, one having left Cleveland at 6:36 p.m. traveling at 55 mph, the other from Topeka at 4:19 p.m. at a speed of 35 mph
the funniest thing i've read in a long while.
although I heard they were done by British students rather than American ones, which makes me think they're just made-up. But if they ARE genuine, these kids should be commended for being hilarious and inciteful, and I mean that sincerely.
inciting analogical hatred?
LAUGHTER AND JOY?
but pedancy aside, you lead me to a question- Are these genuinely unwittingly funny, or genuinely ironic? Or is it a mixed bag?
