WOW! It really is actually coming out :)
what about the Shield Season 3?
I got really decent copies of seasons 3 and 4 of the Shield off ebay quite easily. Worth a shot.
It has a worse reputation than sereis 1 but its still ace. The first 7 episodes leading up the revelation of the killer are easily as good as season 1. The rest of season has quite a bit of filler but there are still some great moments.
wraps up it loses it's way abit until the end when it completely redeems itself. hows annie?hows annie?hows annie?hows annie?hows annie?hows annie?hows annie?
is truly the worst thing I've ever seen, utter shite. Some of it is ace, though
has that amazing bit of him riding a bike for 20 minutes with really shit rockabilly playing for no reason, and it makes your mind die just like the william burroughs bill and tony film.
in fact, I'd say it's not very good.
There's definitely a dip in quality after the killer is revealed but it apparently picks up again near the end.
BOB is fucking scary though
it meanders after laura's killer is revealed and the bit with bobby and the married woman is just terrible
was it cancelled after the finale cliffhanger, or was that a device by Lynch to put two fingers up to the network?
chance of carrying on but it was definitely cancelled for the time being, so i think lynch just wanted to go as over the top as possible with the multiple cliffhangers
there was going to be a series of movies, however lynch made the first one, fire walk with me, 5 hours long and therefore had to cut three hours out of it leaving it making little sense and pretty rubbish so the rest never happened. I think the ending is perfect.
Fire walk with me is perfect!
my favourite lynch, along with blue velvet
it lacks all the warmth and humour of the series which kinda made the dark weirder bits even more unsettling, I think mark frost doesn't et enough credit, his abscense is noticible.
it focuses entirely on the last days of a deeply troubled girl in deeply disturbing circumstances. Its supposed to be harrowing. youre supposed to be scared. there isnt much room for the charming eccentricities of the series.
I reckon it'll have aged much better than you think. Also, seeing it in one go and knowing the ending compared to having to sit through it week on week may well be an improvement.
