why are the film and DVD classification grades a lot stricter in Ireland than in England?
but probably because it's still such a catholic country.
they're not? are they?
the irish rating tends to be one level above the UK rating.
eg, ghostbusters is a UK PG but an irish 15.
they're both PG
you're right. memory = BAD.
i can see that none of my dvds that have both UK and Eire classification on, are rated any differently.
it's going to irritate me until i find one...
UK - 15
IRE - 18
you own coyote ugly
it's amusing. to a certain extent.
then again so would piper perabo
i saw the matrix in the cinema and it was a 15. maybe they change them for dvd rental/buying. dunno why.
look at the BBFC rating on it compared to the irish one.
then again we have different ratings even further like -
but 90% of the time irish is more....especially with UK 15 they have 18..
it's not like anyone gives a fuck anyway, i used to buy 18 vids when i was 14. and saw 18s in the cinema when i was 14.
there was a time the exorcist had to be obtained from under the counter in the video shop as it was so bad.
wasn't it banned?
born when it was going on.
by the BBFC for a number of years without substantial cuts which the producers refused to do, so it was in effect banned.
they've mellowed in the last ten years or so, though. they've now taken to calling themselves the british board of film classification, rather than censorship. yay!
certificates at the cinema in the UK aren't legal ones, merely recommendations. it's up to the management if they want to let you in or not.
crazy and need to be protected from such material
stay away from me!!
i love the irish really, all my best friends are irish.
i was lying, i dont know any irish people
they had to raise the legal sex age to 17. Although I'm pretty sure that was just the North.
But yes, I have many movies that are rated 18+ in Ireland, but 15+ everywhere else.
