What is it?
That gets forced on vegetarians any time someone has a sunday roast.
baked in the oven to make a loaf.
I'll stick to my animal remnants.
It's essentially a nut-based savoury cake, cooked like a loaf and baked to have a hard crust on the top.
Personally I like the nut roast to be quite moist but if you make it too moist it tends to lose some flavour. It's better to err on the side of dryness and then you can cover it in a nice gravy too.
Ideally there should be rosemary or maybe thyme (I can't remember) in there somewhere. I'll post mum's recipe if I can find it.
for posting the most comprehensive answer!
Still, doesn't sound too delightful...
It's really not too far from stuffing, actually, so you'd probably like it if you like that.
That might not be as bad as I thought then...
I've never known what it was either
I'm sorry Andy..
do a nice ready to oven one...obviously it's not as nice as a home-made one but it's much better than I thought it'd be. It's next to the veggie sausages and veggie burgers and veggie patties. It's cheap too. it's nice.
