--FESTIVE RAMBLE--
Hey,
After all of last week's partying, the DiSopolis is a little less excitable and/or hungover today. Thank you to everyone who joined us and apologies to any toes we stood on dancing to 'Born to Run'. I think we were allowed all that excess spirit as this year really has been the best of our past six.
Not only have our hits risen to 155,000 unique readers a week, but we've also been recognised by the wider world and nominated for prestigious awards, including picking up the Record of the Day Music Industry prize for Best Podcast. We're nominated at the PLUG Awards, too: vote using the link below...

We've been taking a look back at 2006 and gazing into our crystal balls to see what 2007 might hold. It's a funny thing, this whole prediction malarkey; trying to work out the flavours of next year. Over the course of January you'll find our tips for 2007 popping up on the site, as well as all the records we're going goo-goo in anticipation for. We're talking about new albums from the likes of The Shins, Bloc Party, Bright Eyes, Interpol, Arcade Fire, !!!, Explosions in the Sky, PJ Harvey, Radiohead, Ryan Adams (x53albums), Maximo Park, Modest Mouse, Kaiser Chiefs, Rakes, Patrick Wolf, Massive Attack, 'Our 66' list topper Björk and lots, lots more to look forward to...
Not only this, but in the New Year we have lots of 'things' to tell you about. But let's not unwrap anything prematurely. There are recent things to see, do, read and DiScover below. We'll be back plumper than ever in January, but for now we'd like to wish you and yours a wonderful and relaxing festive break and here's to 2007 and all the great music and good times ahead.
See you on t'other side,
Sean xo

--THINGS TO BUY--
Drowned in Sound Recordings has had a pretty exciting year, not least with METRIC causing a undeniable stir, JENIFEREVER breaking hearts and MARTHA WAINWRIGHT being all over the radio and TV on that Snow Patrol hit single. All three of them have albums which are Out Now! This year we also released digital-only singles by BAT FOR LASHES, LES INCOMPETENTS [RIP], EMMY THE GREAT, BLOOD RED SHOES and ADAM GNADE, all of which are available
now, worldwide, from all good download stores.
See http://www.disrecords.com for more info.
And lots of other stuff too.
Yours in Christmas Spirit,
Sean, Mike, Colin, Debbie, Raz and all at DiS XX
