Wonder if Johnny Rotten was ever blamed for the Yorkshire Ripper murders.
that you start wondering whether the middle England newspapers are having a private crassness competition.
"The problem of this country is we have forgeton Go"
and directly underneath, "Who gave Pete Doherty the label rock star"
"Who killed these poor women? Almost certainly a lonely maniac. But in a more general sense, yeah, it was Kate"
most stated statistic ever. You miss the point you should really be getting angry over for pedantic gimpery.
everyone knows the vast majority of street prostitutes are addicted to HARD drugs....
they all are on hard drugs to be honest.
cos quite frankly i cant imagine anyone in their right mind would want to make a living having sex with strange men.
so shoot me
stated such in the week.
Because the police, their friends and their family told us they were?
i's not actually noticed the doherty/andre moss/price relation before
But plenty of people will lap it up.
I blame gay Muslims.
Theyre basically blaming pete docherty for anybody taking drugs. What the fuck.
Why Daily Mail columnists should hang themselves in Suffolk.
More reason to hate the Daily Mail.
More reason to hate Pete Doherty.
when misinformation attains new height...
Next week "Father Christams should hang his head in shame over the use of 6 years old kids in foregin toy factories..."
"suffolk murderer found to be human; public demands apology from all humans"
Sunday Mirror piece by Carole Malone today. I hate Carole Malone! Infact i hate the Sunday Mirror but its either that or the bloody Racing Post at work :-(
Carole Malone is the most horrific columnist ever...I want to slice her face off
It's the one on Darren Clarke right? "Who the fuck are you?" was all I could think of.
Its obviously sick immigrant rapists and lay-about students responsible.
lol. I love reading the Daily Mail. Its just page after page on exaggerated stories to make people say, 'I can't believe these people.'
I can't imagine anyone wanting to buy it... "Hmm, I'll pick up a Daily Mail. I fancy getting worked up about sensationalised crap."
how they are totally ignoring the fact there is a maniac on the loose
(albeit one of the writer themselves misses) which is that the British media's attitude to drugs is incredibly hypocritical and damaging in that drug use is only reported in the cases of either famous celebrities and social problems caused by drug dependency* and the media tends to accept (and even glamourise) famous people who take drugs, considering it part of their genius, whilst simultaneously ostracising any drug users and this leaves many people unaware of the vast numbers of people who take drugs without any particular negative consequence as part of their everyday life.
Certainly I think the only solution to this is more openness and honesty regarding drug consumption in this country - many people in middle England seem to believe drugs are only taken by creative geniuses or social dropouts and this does lead to skewered public opinion on drug use.
With regard to legalisation of all drugs it isn't practically possible, or at least not in an ethical manner. It would be possible to decriminalise drug posession but for the government to 'legally' deal drugs which cause huge ethical problems for two reasons
a) Cocaine, crack and heroin use is illegal in most countries, the UK government couldn't distibrute it legally without causing major diplomatic problems with other countries
b) What people seem to forget is that, even if a person taking, say, cocaine in their flat at a party with friends doesn't cause any socail problems, the cocaine trade itself does (especially in countries like Colombia where a senior political figure probably pretty fairly accused everyone in rich countries taking coke as having his countrymen's blood on their hands). If the government was to legalise a drug like heroin or cocaine, whcih are based on crops indiginous to certain countries, they could only do it
bybuying it from incredibily nasty people who genuinely do fuck up other people's lives.
a) If heroin and coke were going to be legal it would indeed be the kind of thing that the EU would have to undertake more than the UK on its own, this is at best way off and at worst never going to happen, but it's the kind of thing that should be achievable with the kind of political integration that has been achieved.
b) I hate this argument so very much. Coca can/does grow in a bunch of South American countries beyond Colombia, Colombia has become the main source largely due to its political turmoil, not vice versa.
I think it's fair to say that the senior political figure had little desire to paint a balanced picture, and a great desire to appeal to the USA and its useless anti-drug agenda, as well as financially damage the various rebel movements.
I don't claim to have a detailed understanding of the political situation in Colombia, but if you look at any philosopher from Hobbes to Marx to Machiavelli, one thing is clear, if you've got significant marxist/communist rebel activity in your country, it's a pretty clear sign your government hasn't been doing the best job. Vietnam is a great example, and Nepal's recentish history isn't bad either on that front.
Also it might be hoped that if legalisation came elsewhere the producer nations would feel/be compelled to legalise production, allowing profits to be taxed, stimulating economic growth taking cash away from warlords and gangsters.
All of which is ignoring the fact that with modern technology it would be pretty much possible (for a price) to grow anything we want in the UK.
I do kinda hope it turns out it was Pete and Kate on a killing spree who killed these girls, BUT it was because she'd quit whatever she did and he'd gone cold turkey. Then the Daily Mail could be right but for the wrong reasons. Which is almost as right as the daily mail ever gets. (The most right it ever gets is just beyond Hitler. hahaha)
Peter and Katie Andre. Duhh.
But yes, shit article.
it would make about as much sense
fucking daily mail.
but then the other day they were trying to call pinochet a 'misunderstood leader'
was such a fascinating contradiction though...
a brutal dictator who arguably left his country in a better position than when he took power.
hoping they were blaming peter andre and jordan.
why the Daily MAil is the worst, most evil paper ever. I'm so furious I'm just gonna have to let it go.
that there's a mass murder still on the loose! derp.
*murderer (of course).
is much, much worse. Trust me.
My parents get it, and I refuse to read the front. Sport section is all i read of it.
Diana is on the front page nearly every day. I laugh every time I see the words "DIANA CONSPIRACY".
always seems to put things on the cover like:
"This paper is 6p cheaper than the Daily Mail!"
"We are the best newspaper in the world!"
And I don't think they're being ironic, somehow.
laughed. Quite heartily too. We should stop pete now before he single handedly causes nuclear war too.
i thought it was more "Diana investagators ate body to destroy the truth"
Prince Charles supplied the recipe-Palace insider reveals all
I never thought I'd actually feel sorry for Pete over the position he's gotten himself in. Until now. A paper - read by millions - is somehow indirectly suggesting there's blood on his hands.
Have they gotten bored with emo this week or something? I'm speechless.
I've gotten over speechless now and am just really fucking angry.
I could laugh if, say, it was some fanzine written by a man that lived in a hole, with a readership of 4, but it isn't. Peoples' opinions are FORMED by this stuff.
did a similar peice in today's Mirror. This is the same woman who called the parent's of Jean-Claude de Menezes attepmt to seek compensation an "outrage and insult to those that dies in the London bombings."
wants to be supported by the public, rather than villified, perhaps they should consider bumping off daily mail columnists.
Yeah that’s probably Kate Moss' fault.
2nd world war started by Hitler? Nah that was Kate init !
Who Killed Diana? Ohhhh it’s that pesky Kate Moss again.
I don't why I hate Mondays so much but I reckon Kate’s probably got something to do with it.
(can I also just say that the Charlie I had this weekend was pretty shit)
