Anybody seen this? I've just rented it and I must say, I'm mucho excited about this whole thing
Joint favourite film of the year. You watched right up to the end of the end credits, yeah?
a cinema where you could drink wine. This made a brilliant film even better.
All arthouse french films should be enjoyed with a good red.
It took me about 20 minutes to realise the complete absence of music (I'm stoopid, see). But once I did I was suddenly aware of just how much of a hold the film was having on me
Definitely recommend it
but I couldn't find it
Daniel Auteuil was there and was asked about the plot.
He didn't have a clue.
but i dont know if you can take the piss out of the middle class in a middle class way. or if you can it seems a bit pointless.
buy a film, as when i went to see that.
i thought the opening scene was really cheesy, and it didn't hold my interest at any point during the film.
i guess it was fun to discuss afterwards, but i really REALLY didnt like it.
there was nothing engaging about them. i think they were probably meant to just be like cut-outs really. but i couldnt care at all what was happening.
it's hard to question your suspension of disbelief, when you havent suspended your disbelief.
and that same camera angle for all that time. i couldnt watch with without thinking about other more interesting things. like what i was going to have for dinner...
Subtle, tense, intelligent. Everything happens beneath the surface and it challenges you to work out the characters.
i probably got more out of it than i'd like to admit. but it doesnt change that watching it was really unpleasant.
it's probably more that i dont like clever-clever arty films. unless they;re cliched american ones, whcih arent too clever.
cinema doesnt really work for subtle, tense, complex art. for me, that is. i'd rather watch back to the future.
kills himself is a shock...
i woke up for that bit.
and one that stayed with me for a long time.
