stop calling your parents "mum" and "dad" and start calling them by their real names?
or does this not happen?
why would you change?
unless your parents are unbearably pretentious
do they? my mum calls her mum mummy
my dad calls his parents ma and pa
I called aunts and uncles by their names
And I forced myself to say 'mum' to my mother so she isn't hurt too much... But sometimes I just can't.
Yes, I've had some issues with my parents...
it's just wrong.
is because I'm winding them up. It's just not right.
Anyway, as far as I'm concerned their real names are 'Mum' and 'Dad'.
they tell you you're actually adopted.
you call you mum "mother" and your dad "sir".
for a lark.
Father figure. :D
Usually my mum is called "her over there" and my dad is called "oi, ugly"... er, yeah. Believe it or not, we get on brilliantly most of the time.
However the only cases i've heard it happen have been down south, fairly successful, middle class families with 'studies' and things.
The kids have LOTS of tantrums too.
HOW DARE YOU.
Small House syndrome and that.
my dad stays there for long times.
that's right, my 'DAD', he'll never be anything else.
that will never change... and I like that fact.
i started doing it. they respond quicker.
I still call my uncle 'Uncle Martin' or even if we're in the pub and are intoxicated, when referring to him in the third person I call him Bad Uncle Martin
"Wend". Because she hates it. But, obviously, not in the presence of others. Because that would humiliate her.
if you know her name's Wendy, i guess.
That seems weird.
I call my dad "Dave" sometimes, "papa" in a mocking way at others.
If we're in the presence of others I'll call him dad, though, just so people don't think we're weird.
when start to call your gf that
I think it's funny. My aunt thinks it's disrespectful. So I told her FUCK YOU.
Crazy old Ukrainian traditions.
