apparently there is a Christmas festival on Saturday with dancing animals and dwarfs! I'm excited!
I loved Latvia (apart from the stag parties)
It's just what the thing about the Christmas festival said.
It's probably absolutely abhorrent but nonetheless entertaining.
are you going?
Just til Sunday
to go and see Stalin's birthday cake
in the middle of Riga. I love it - it's like a Communist Empire State Building
Wow! I'm so excited. And it's so cheap there!
and the trams are like 20p for a journey wherever, and little old peasant women collect your money. How Romantic
Like ridiculously so. I get the impression that it manages to see like a backwards poor former Communist country whilst seeming really modern and affluent at the same time.
You can give me a report! [And a risk assessment too, if you like. i.e. Let me know if you see anyone being murdered.]:
so it'll be OK
They're the worst kind of British people.
But they're not important in Latvia.
But you're definitely not more likely to be run over in the UK, as Hofo claims in his other thread. My travel guide informs me that Latvia has the worst record of road safety in Europe.
Include information about the condition of Latvian medical services? And the speed of the emergency services? Would you have to wear two pairs of socks?
But it's about 5 there at the moment.
Latvian medial services are good and cheap, or free if you had a European Health insurance card thingy.
You're so jittery! LOL
apparently, in a single bombing raid in 1943 - called Operation Millenium - the Royal air force used 1,046 bombers to drop 1,455 tons of high explosives on the city thus rendering it obselete and leaving 59,000 people homeless
best not mention the war eh?
Have lots of fun! :)
