We won a league game.
it's an excellent result. We're on a half decent run at the minute, I'm starting to feel a bit more optimistic.
lulls us into a false sense of optimism... only to destroy all our hopes.
between graeme souness having been employed and stopping my boycott of newcastle?
unbeaten in 7 games in all competitions now. That's a ridiculous stat but actually true.
And we're above fucking Boro, at least.
Brenford haven't won in 18 games. :(
i was at the Celta Vigo game a couple of weeks ago. Prior to that i was at the Sheff United game early November.
lots of people on here are always saying what massive supporters of their clubs they are, yet never actually go and watch their team. it annoys me a little bit, but then i forget to take into account the fact that, before anything else, it's probably quite difficult to get tickets at big clubs.
i've always held the opinion that i get a better view of the game in the pub on the telly than paying 20 quid for a seat four miles back at old trafford.
plus i live out here now.
I'm 17, and live in Lisburn. I have an excuse. I'll go to lots of games in the future.
I live in Brighton, my team is in the Midlands. I have a student budget.
Still try ti get to about 5-6 home games a season if possible.
"I'm a massive supporter of my team".
People are just enthusiastic and passionate.
and i wasn't attacking anyone in particular, it just seems strange to me that people would support a team and never go and see them play.
but then i have a season ticket at town, and i spend every other saturday afternoon wondering why i bother.
just depends on what's practical. If I lived in Coventry I would go more (I never intend to live in Coventry...).
I had a season ticket at Brentford (my local team at home) one year and to be honest it got quite tiresome. I kept missing games and feeling guilty about it and the quality of football wasn't really good enough to justify going every week. But then they're not my first team so I suppose it's different.
i went to see oldham play a couple of times when i couldn't afford to get back for matches. then it dawned on me that i don't even like football that much. if it doesn't involve grimsby then it doesn't interest me that much.
I think sometimes it is important to favour one team over another. Even if it's Just cos El-Hadji Diouf is a cunt or something.
Although I do enjoy watching football as a neutral if it is to a reasonably high standard. I love premiership football and don't really have a strong like or dislike for anyone.
yeah, you have to consider that. And I hate it when people say that you can't be a big fan if you don't go to all the games. Being a fan of a club means following and caring about the team's results and fortunes, whether that's on TV, radio or at the stadium.
I think I've been to about 10 Newcatle games in my life but I don't think that makes me less of a fan. It's neither easy nor cheap to get tickets. Although apparently my dad has managed to get a share in a season ticket with someone which means that from January I should get to see some games whenever I'm back from uni :)
hahah... a lad spent 2 days at work trying to get rid of his ticket for tonights game. He had other plans and couldn't go.
I don't think he got rid of it.
Anyway, the company i work for has an Exec box. It holds 10 people. I get to go in it plenty... free of charge.
So, by your reasoning; someone on the dole who can't afford a ticket can't possibly be a true supporter? And they aren't allowed to talk about how they love the club. And why? Because they are skint???
i also admitted that i often forget to take different factors into account that would explain why these people don't/can't go to matches.
your initial question to me 'when did you last go to a match?' was a little antagonistic. Or at least it apeared to be.
How would you have responded if i;d said i hadn't been in years?
'huh! some fan you are!' probably.
or i'd have asked why you hadn't been, depending on how i was feeling at that particularly moment.
you would have no idea what my situation is. Or what my reasons for not going were.
Anyway fuck it. I go to about 10 games a season. Although i do question why i fucking bother. We are a fucking shithole ran by a fucking cunt or cunts.
WILL SOMEONE PLEASE COME AND BUY OUR CLUB NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd probably give Scott Parker and Shay Given to Coventry though...
we did win a league game last week. 2 league wins in a row! And both at home! The fortress is returning....
Can't wait to see Emre's winner.
i totally for got about Portsmouth!!
I am such a tit!
isn't there a midweek MOTD this week? Rubbish.
