Can too much Red Bull kill you?
I've been living on the stuff recently whilst doing late night essay writing. Plus, I'll be drinking the stuff come exam time in January.
However, I got back from the gym today and had a can when my flatmate told me this horror story about this guy who drank three cans after exercising who died from 'overdosing' on the stuff. Having said that, this is the guy who once said that 'every time you drink Red Bull, your liver bleeds'! Which is obviously nonsense.
Soo...should I worry about my intake of the stuff or is this simply an urban myth?

A lot of people drinking quite a bit of vodka and Red Bull feel some quite weird effects. Taurine is a particularly powerful stimulant.

heard alot of red bull/vodka is similar to the effect of pills, both during the night and the hangover etc.

I would say 'yes'
but it's like that with any stimulant. If you've got a weak heart or something caffeine isn't going to do you any good. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but don't overdo it.
The liver stuff sounds like nonsense though.
Yeah, I didn't take too much notice of that liver bollocks
but around essay/exam time, I thrive off the stuff and a bit 'worried' as a result of this...well, reliance.

I was drinking about 5-6 cans a day towards the back end of last year/start of this and in February felt really faint at work and had to go to casualty. They sent me for an ECG and asked if I drank energy drinks regularly, and told me to cut them out for the forseeable future.
Thing is though, I still drink the odd can now and then but sometimes feel a bit light headed after.
Absolutely anything
can kill you. Red Bull has got some potentially very harmful stuff in it. But in moderation it should be fine.

To get my dissertation done (I stupidly left it late so had to write it all in a single day) I mixed ground up pro plus with red bull. I didn't sleep for 3 days and started hallucinating.
But most of the time, it just gives me a headache.

it does get you in a state if you mix alot with alot of alcohol and other stuff. someone i know had 10+ in ibiza, when it was cool to go there. (so 4 or so years ago)

one thing you should
take note of is the fur that accumulates on your tongue the morning after a heavy night on the Red Bull.
A good scraping with a new Gillete blade should resolve matters easily though.
It's a shame.

I once opened five cans of Red Bull at once and downed them all one after the other, then went to bed and had the most vivid and horrendous nightmares ever... I can only presume the events were related.
it's actually good for your liver
promotes healing and destroys the damage alcohol does to your liver (hence the excellent hangoevr cure)
BUT taurine overstrains your heart, and can lead to some serious damage if you overconsume, ie a lot per week. which is why I stick to vodka cranberry. :D
I had a few tonight...
I just got back from an eight hour shift, so it helped loads.
In Rome, I pretty much went on some crazy trip after loads of red bull... We couldn't find a hotel, so we were just on this doorstep at 3am, the others asleep while I was going insane.
Next thing I know I wake up in some weird corridor type thing in the airport with policemen and a queue of people staring at me, with a great deal of amusement...

I had some shit in Thailand when I was 10 called 'Magnum P-45' which was like the taste of Red Bull but virtually syrup. I ended up drinking a medicine sized bottle to myself and within an hour my heartrate was rediculous and got forced to drink loads of water and spew it out. I was later told that it's like speed and only kickboxers and hard labour workers drink it.

That a can of sugarfree Red Bull can cause minor heart damage within 60 minutes of it being consumed. Makes you think.
