are they inherent?
or can you 'become' allergic to something?
ie. if your parents were smokers or ate a lot of a certain food.
You get an allergy when your immune system overreacts to a small amount of the allergen introduced to your body, resulting in at the least a runny nose and at worst anaphylactic shock and a humourous death.
you can be born with em, but might pick em up later on. At the very least they might not be diagnosed til later on, and symptoms can emerge, like whenever. Anaphylactic shock is only a humorous way to die because anaphylactic sounds funny. Which is enough.
'Bout the same here. And I know exactly what caused it: A fateful rollabout on the field outside my uncle's house. I knew it was a mistake going there.
im still cool
'become' allergic to something. I became allergic to ginger last year. Have you had some sort of a reaction?
I'm sick :(
i feel for you.
as its not that strong a reaction, i can take a bar of chocolate and not have that bad of a reaction but a bowl of cereal is a no-no, i dont do cheese either.
you can "become" allergic to something.
You can also stop being allergic to something you've reacted to all your life.
The allergic response is not remotely logical. Why people's immune systems often decide that something like pollen is a threat is a mystery.
Because it's illogical, it can sometimes be fooled... by giving it tiny amounts of an allergen then sneakily increasing it when it isn't looking (desensitisation)... or avoiding something completely for a while till it "forgets" it thought it was a threat in the first place.
Sometimes you "become" allergic to something new when you are exposed to it while having an allergic response to something else - you're immune system can then decide that the new thing is something dodgy too...
Allegies are crap :-(
that I know of.
allergic to cats. :(
i hope that never, ever, ever happens to me
and my eyes water when I'm around them, particularly my Auntie's cats. It's rubbish, because cats are great and we used to have one as well. :(
No bread, no pasta, no cake!
The staples of my previous diet :(
