Great movie !
Guillermo del Toro is one of the greatest director at the moment.
Is it out over here yet?
next friday. I'm really excited about seeing it. Almost too much, I'm not sure it can live up to my expectations
I won't be complaining.
it's his best movie ( but I haven't seen Cronos .)
It's touching, it's beautiful, it's intelligent...
I'm really looking forward to this!
got next friday of work so i can see it, maybe even twice. heard nothing but great things
i loved it
today probably, i hope im not disappointed
you won't be !
Can't wait to see this.
who knew extreme violence and childlike fantasy could go so well together.
like such a winning combination. I wanna watch. Wenzit out?
next in London I'm going to demand someone takes me to this!
i'd forgotten about the violence. there are some truly gruesomes scenes in it which had me squirming in my chair. OUCH!
seeing this film! Just saw it on Jonathan Ross' Film 2006, yay
I'm going to see it at Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds, officially the best cinema in the world.
on the internet but it won't work! waaaah!
in my local Odeon. With a big bucket of popcorn :)
from Kenfucky Fried Chicken
i watched 20 mins of it and assumed it was aimed at kids but then it has loads of violence and adult themes so was kinda confused, i still enjoyed it mind you. weird but good.
they give Shortbus an 18 because it has real sex in, but Pan's Labyrinth has ultra-violent violence in. I know which I'd rather have my 16 year old kid see.
That's got to be some kind of record.
Saw this last night. It was ace. Better than Devil's Backbone even.
The monster with eyes in his hands was bloody terrifying, but the Captain was even scarier.
I have to go to LEEDS to be able to see this film.
And give it to me when you're done.
go and see it in the cinema!!!!!!!!!
I only get £30 a week, and THIS week, £20's going on a bloody bus pass! The remaining tenner would not get me to leeds and back, with a cinema trip AS WELL.
on in Newcastle anywhere? I really want to see it too.
Unless there are some more cinemas in Newcastle which it doesn't know about.
Closest is Hyde Park Picture House, Leeds.
it's not. I checked last week before I came back from uni and it was on somewhere, but it's not any more. The north east is fucking terrible for cinemas.
I might go on the weekend, but I think only one cinema in Leeds is showing it.
the *best* cinema in leeds
I'm uncool so I never make the film festivals and stuff...
was released in 2005 (Hidden). PAN'S LABYRINTH WINS ON A TECHNICALITY!
came out in the UK in January, you can include it.
and seeing David Thomas Broughton...
But I'm getting a Wii at midnight and really want to play it!
was just HORRIBLE (in a great way). So much scarier than anything else i've seen, even gross stuff like nightmare on elm st 4.
and I agree with whoever earlier in the thread (sorry for making another one) that this film was no way a 15. It's worse than most 18s! A kid's film it is not. Before I saw it I thought it would be a Spanish version of Labyrinth (lol).
in some reviews.
it starts with the captain guy smashing that guy's face in and just gets worse.
and the ending (part Narnia, part oh-how-sad) is the most thought-provoking ending i've seen for a while.
But you can take the violenec seriously which you don't in most horror movies ( where it is just fun ).
I think one of the point of the movie is that violence isn't fun in reality.
it was amazingly amazing.
Pan's Labyrinth > Labyrinth with David Bowie in it.
YES, THAT GOOD.
Actually that might be stretching it... it could've been improved with David Bowie in it.
what Bowie could have played...
it's definitely one of the best films i've ever seen.
the actress who played ofelia is amazing! and the twists in the plot are just brilliant. one of those films that you just have no idea how it's going to end until about two seconds beforehand.
