It was always going to be hard to follow Curbishley, and for him to only get 12 games is just a joke to be honest.
A MINI BOGLIN.
on a diet
if this has anything to do with Simon Jordan's threats of action against Charlton. It didn't seem there was a huge gathering storm against him yet.
Charlton have been picking up of late and, even though they lost at the weekend, seemed to have a bit of spirit about them.
Dowie's a decent manager and the club should have given him more time.
No! London for London!
Leyton Orient > Charlton
Trut' So Pure!
He's hardly had a chance, although Alan Curbishley looks better and better every week while Charlton are languishing in the relegation zone.
Off the top of my head I can't think of any managers avaliable who would go to Charlton and who are of a better ability then Iain Dowie.
All this will do now is unsettle the club further.
i'm so fed up with premier league football. i think i've expressed my views enough before.
like someone esle said, i hope they get another shit manager
And the fact that YET AGAIN, the top of the table is Chelsea/ManU/Arsenal is the least reason right minded folk should make the switch.
I'm watching some DRAMA here.
Everyone beats everyone else, you can't predict it.
That's what NFL is like. Except good.
do I now get this feeling that Paul Simpson will be the new Charlton manager?
He has done wonders at Carlisle and is currently working his magic on Preston, it can only be a matter of time until he manages in the Premeiership, whether with Preston or another team such as Charlton.
The other day I was thinking about shit Charlton are doing, and then I realised that they actually have a pretty woeful set of players (apart from Bent)
Curbishley will turn up at Newcastle, methinks. And I think that could be the move that both have been looking for for years
I really do, he's done so much for so little money. Darren Bent was a fantastic piece of business. But you have to think that before that Charlton have suvived in the Premier League due to the combined striking talents of Jonatan Johansson, Kevin Lisbie and Shaun Bartlett. Say no more.
I like Iain Dowie. He should go to a Championship club.
he just strikes me as completely incompetent.
at Oldham with no money and did wonders with Palace, I mean from 18th to winning the play offs in a few months.
And look where Palace are now, with a supposedly good manager as well...
how can he possibly manage in the premiership?
IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT.
and i expected more from Charlton, of all clubs.
i think they'll go down as bottom club now.
Dowie has shown himself to be a fantastic manager on small budgets, and replacing Curbishley was always going to be hard, so this decision just leaves a horrible taste in the mouth and i can't see Charlton being a top flight club for many years once they inevitably get relegated.
Bob Dowie just lost his job too
they keep their hands off Colin Calderwood.
makes me sure they've fallen out over more than football. what will an Assistant Manager with no top league management experience bring that Dowie couldn't? they call him a "coaching guru" but, where?
and that Charlton say this is because of a review is ridiculous. an extensive review of a club's structure would have to have started before Curbishley had even vacated.
a complete joke.
