we've jsut set up this in our department. Tea!
but I hate everyone i work with, or am indfferent to their existence - can we have virtual tea?
is exactly why I never want to work in an office
Sophie, is everything OK with you? Is there anything you need to talk about?
Surely, making tea for colleagues is just normal everyday office behaviour????????? It's what sentient beings do.
as a) I'm antisocial and b) sods law says it will be my turn when I can't spare 10 minutes
where tea making responsibilties are shared out in an egalitarian fashion, i'll give you seventeen pounds.
my colleague set it up.
I am relishing ANYTHING to relieve the boredom until I get a new job.
You talked of a dream job....or is my memory false...probably.
it did seem ideal, but I'm really REALLY underused. It's a shame. Ah well, hopefully someone will give me a nice job in orchestral marketing soon, fingers crossed!
Yes, that is always annoying, and very stupid behaviour by employers.
I got the job on the strength of my degree, my music knowledge, and my copywriting skillz, and I basically never write ANYTHING :(
Can you use your bored time at the office to do other things without managers noticing?
writing something promotional, basically
writing text to make things sound exciting and interesting. Come to this gig! It'll be great! etc.
Yep, I've used it to write job applications and play on here, mostly. I should work on a novel though!
your skills in copywriting? i'm curious.
surprising how many people can't! And I've had jobs doing it before, I suppose.
got your new job?
I sent off an application that had to be in today though! I've had two interviews for other jobs I haven't got, so far.
sorry to hear that. nobody will give me a cunting job ... why is that?
She moved to London. Got a job, didn't liek the job, got a new job, a job in which she now feels under-utilised, so she is now looking for another job.
she had got a new job about 6 weeks ago and assumed she wasn't fed up of it already.
although i hate my job and i've only been here for 7-8 months.
I've never had a job for longer than 9 months.
my first proper + serious job after uni. and i wish i was dead. this is bad, no?
I knew it'd be you as well.
Pregnancy is more of a chore really though.
but i only have 2 colleagues and they don't drink tea or coffee or owt
but in secret?
they don't cry at all and have perfect lives
push em out the window - its the only physical language they understand
I like Nicey's idea but that's because I'm scared of her
push them out of the window but we're on the ground floor :(
damn you all
I don't want a job.
to set up teaoclock for those of us at home?
theres enough politics involved in making tea in our office as it is.
i really hate the way everything in offices has to have some sort of stupid system
i'm sticking this in here cos it has been ignored on the music boards and you NEED to hear this!
like a French Peaches or summat.
thank you :)
BUREAUCRACY GONE MAD
in one the tea system is this: someone says "Tom, could you make some tea or coffee for everyone?" so I obliginly scuttle off to the kitchen.
In the other we just take it in turns on an irregular basis.
