would you say your musical knowlege has increased a lot? A little? At all?
a bit more
I don't go near the music board, some of the bands I like are considered 'uncool' and I can't be arsed listening to people slate them
if you don't like them you don't like them. unless they are far way too much overhyped, e.g. the kaisers...
and will slate them and Robbie Williams at the drop of a hat, aside from that I say each to their own.
you do give away a surprisingly small amount about what you like?
Nobody on here even knows my real name. I'm not here to be accepted, I'm here for a laugh.
along with my general intelligence and attractiveness
More bands I'd've probably never heard anything by otherwise (Used to be crazily mainstream).
The genres of taste haven't really changed, but there were never any ruled out anyway.
Actualy knowledge about anything to do with music? No. Not at all. It has always baffled me, always will, I've given up.
I wasn't exactly ignorant, but I now know about up and coming bands earlier than I used to.
musical knowledge ?
I started coming on here shortly after the death of John Peel, and although I learned LOADS from him, I've learned way way more on here, and especially from the real life people I've met from on here.
I was beginning to be afraid...
exponentially. There are literally SO MANY bands that I love that I know about through this place.
its made me more wary of artists once you realise how 'it all works' - in a positive way of course as there is good music 'out there' that you sill discover with complete serendipity and that to me is a beautiful moment.
that is fun
what is going on, even if I don't care for the bands in question.
For example, I first found out that Joanna Newsom was playing the Barbican on here, and although I shan't be going, I've alerted several friends who now are.
instead of 24 months too late
just looking at El_Biscuit's profile has introduced to me Jens Lekman. Hes really great :]-thankyou
I owe so much to dis. Yeah.
my friend comes on DiS. Finds new music. Tells me new music. I listen. So you could say yes since joining dis my musical knowledge has increased.
but i've been on here so long its hard to judge
certainly. thanks to various kind members.
not necessarily because of DiS. but probably partly because of it. the rakes who i love i first heard about on here. and also bloc party.
yes, a lot. thanks DiS!
I wouldn't have discovered the following without DiS:
We Will Be Pilots
Die! Die! Die!
Peace Burial At Sea
Thunderbirds are Now!
So BIG THANKS DiS!!!!! :D
than music itself. maybe.
A little bit
I wouldn't have discovered The Shins, Sparklehorse, and Tv On The Radio. also this site encouraged me to get into bands I'd heard of, such as Biffy Clyro, Elbow, etc.
So my taste is more varied, yeah.
i.e. most bands i now listen to i've discovered from this site.
But it still hasn't stopped me from liking some of the more unpopular bands on this site...
it`s just people attacking other people for liking bands they don`t and then denouncing religion.
i`m off to crack one off
