are there laws and stuff about busking, or can you just rock up some place and do your thang?
to fuck off.
'thang' well it depends wholly upon what your 'thang' is surely.
but i used to do it and never got moved. You just have to not do it in stupid places. And don't do it next to other buskers who do have a licence. Also be aware that the police have a right to confiscate your instrument(s) and possibly fine you if you refuse to move or they catch you after having told you to move already. Or some shit like that.
I think the licence thing may depend on the individual council of the district that you're in. Or rather the authorities' likelihood of doing anything about it. The more liberal the council the less they care.
knowledge is da bomb.
you need a license and have to audition and stuff. my friend did it- took ages but she got it in the end.
as for normal in the street busking, i imagine youll need a license too.
ask your local council or something, they should be able to tell you how to go about getting one.
but yeah, wouldnt recommend just turning up playing on a street corner.
also hello, you've been away a while
a fantastic guitarist...he was into metal but he could play beautiful spanish guitar and do all Django reinhardts stuff.....he decided to go busking.....did he play to his strengths....no he took some bongos, what was worse he took this other freind of mine, a french girl(who had no self conciousness or awareness of polite morales or what you do or dont do in britain, she did not play an instrument at all, so he drummed whilst she did 'expressive dance' (she wasnt a dancer or anything as far as Im aware), they just did it, in a spirit of adventure.....in the centre of Birmingham......how did I hear about it? some different mates had told me about this absolutely looney busking....my other freinds later told me it was them.....I laugh now but I guess I should salute their bravery and 'lets put on the show right now' spirit
