any other fans? In terms of actors Jeremy Brett was supreme
of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself. He was quite the remarkable man. He managed to pack so much activity into his lifetime, enough to fill uo 3 lifetimes! Did you know that he worked on a case that was largely responsible for establishing the Court of Appeal in this country? Also, he was very much into psychic phenomenon and regualrly attended seances etc. Much of this part of his life was done in various 'haunts' in Southsea where I live. A remarkable man.
All others seem to pale in comparison, especially Rupert Everett and Robert Stevens
basil rathbone beats jeremy brett hands down.
i love the WW2 propaganda ones
and aimed at the American market and Watson is just too bumbling and stupid to be feasible. Not the worst though.
era is hilarious. genuinely hilarious.
the one where the murder is committed on the train to edinburgh is absolutely superb.
but in terms of becoming the holmes Doyle depicted Brett is the best. God that sounded like Tom Paulin on smugger than normal analytical drawl. Oh dear.
i sort of agree. and i love most interpretations of sherlock holmes and have spent a silly amount of money on DVDs over the last few years
