do any of the non-students on here ever feel homesick?
move out of that place!
just today i've really missed the dog and me mam and dad. happens from time to time.
when you are at home is the worst kind of homesickness
It makes me feel sick. Is that what you mean?
yep, about once every few months, when I'm ill or exhausted or bored of going out all the time and want someone to cook me food and drive me around.
I'm going home this weekend, yay fun.
never feel like you miss their company?
I talk to them every 1-2 weeks though.
I'd get dreadfully homesick for all my friends here. Including Homesick, lol.
maybe that's it. i have no reason to want to be in manchester
home Brum, or have I grabbed the wrong end of the wrong stick?
Mrs Judge and I are making our way up to Brum this weekend
I just pretend Birmingham's my home, I wish it was.
and I miss the way that when my mother ironed a shirt it actually looked ironed.
if so, yes.
I'll fight you for him. Hmm, where is he today?
I've been crushing puny earthlings all day, it takes up a lot of my time.
I had to jump.
the other week. I couldn't be bothered to get off the sofa, so he had to basically fold in half to get anywhere near me.
you aren't my nan, are you?
is your nan small and living in North London in the borough of Islington?
it is me then!
(I knew that, haha)
are you cooking lasagna again this week?
can i have a cake please?
why do you still have empty bottles of brandy from the 1970s in your cupboard?
because when I cooked it before for you you were exceptionally drunk.
yes, have some Batternberg, sonny.
never you mind...
you're clearly not my nan, as she'd NEVER ever BUY a BATTENBERG.
i think you should be grateful though, she's very old.
I've ever felt particularly at home in any place enough to actually miss it and feel homesick.
from my parents and reassurance that they love me. i know they do. i don't need them to tell me or look after me for them to show me.
a very shallow way of looking at homesickness.
i don't need reassurance from my parents, i just sometimes miss their company the way i would miss the company of any human being i objectively liked
maybe i just have a different idea of the concept of homesickness rather than just, missing people.
There's nothing to do in my home town anyway.
have nothing to do with the content of the entire thread
"Frankly, I can't be arsed reading the rest of the thread so I'll just offer my two penn'orth and be off. Good day!" post. As I have catchily entitled it.
it's beautiful back home, I miss that. I miss the quietness and the cat, the mundane comfort of my parents.
I live only 30-60 mins from home (depending on the transport) so I don't have to worry about it now.
is due to the changes that have happened there since i left... and i did leave a whole FIVE years ago (argh!) so... it's not really my home anymore. my home is where my cds are.
but then I've lived in Cardiff all my life, and I see my parents roughly once a week anyway.
I don't really think of Mamadads house as Home anymore. I had a really weird night there about a year ago when I stayed over, and just couldn't sleep because it suddenly hit me that it wasn't my home anymore, just the house where my parents live, and I felt really uncomfortable.
both home home in the highlands and old home in edinburgh
its not so much homesickness though, as when i go home for any length of time longer than a few days i tend to get bored stupid and want to escape again, but its nice to be there and spend some time with my folks and go sit on the beach and such like.
my bedroom at home is still a shrine to my 17 year old existance though with photos of schoolfriends who i no longer talk to and posters and postcards of bands i now rarely listen to which is ace to return to!
going home is worse than dental surgery. and im only 18!
