just came on the radio. what a great song. anyone else listening to a song as good as this?
the bit where it speeds up!
I want you to show me. That one, it's not on but in my head
does that speed up????
he talked over the end!!!!!
most offensive statements you've ever made in your life. I HATE YOU.
and I don't particularly like Gino either, and that's strongly coloured me against them.
I don't like them and I try to avoid hearing them whenever possible.
there entire ouevre on those two songs? Wrong. It's like basing every steak in the world on an Aberdeen Angus Steak House. You just wouldn't do it.
one more chance*
Actually. Is Theo a veggie? Then. I don't know. Some veggie analogy. Or another one completely. I don't know. I'm bored of this game now.
but gino rules!
whether you didn't like Star Trek V because it is shit, or because it is Star Trek, surely?
But I'll just nod and back away in case you start using knives.
My colleague is a MASSIVE fan and so I may have heard some other stuff too and not liked that.
Are you saying they normally sound good, then? Those two songs are bad.
Pretty much anything I used to hear a lot when growing up in the 80s I dislike because I associate it with being a kid in my school, which was never massively fun.
Apart from Madness. I still love Madness.
my 'Tubthumping' thing again. I hate it when this happens. I feel lonely. At least other people agree with me here though...
That's more like Creep, except that Creep is great.
do you know? Or are you going? South Bank, apparently...
But if I don't get some rousing renditions of the Chumba hits around the dinner table in the evening, I shall not be happy.
I saw it in the paper this morning and worried you didn't know...
I think they organised golf deliberately. I'm also missing Danbert solo in two weeks time as well. DOUBLESADFACE.
it's a pity I'm going home this weekend, I might have been tempted. Might....
but instead Nick Rhodes made them gash.
Ordinary World acoustic is really something. Ordinary World as recorded by the band is really really dull, for example.
Basically their songs are actually strong but the production makes them sound like Wham!
nick rhodes is actually repsonsable for some good sounds. even if he is a cock
All those drums sounding like Simmonds kits...all those unnecessary shoe-horned in 80s crap keyboard sounds...
on the "hits" i may agree with you in some places. but they're supposed to sound weird. their song structures are, i think, among some of the most original music ever written
I said the songs are strong, it's just the production I don't like.
Sort your grammar out.
Well they still are when they're played. So is George Michael, apart from Freedom '90, which is pretty good.
why I bother reacting to your posts. You're just the old version of martbowski.
Because I don't like Wham!?
more and more wrong as this thread goes on.
I didn't think it was possible for intelligent people to like Wham! but I may still be correct on that point...
I am going to copy you 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels'. One of the best albums EVER. Yip.
Everyone gang up on Theo!!!!
Surely that's clear to everyone.
Anyone got TheoCam up and running yet?
dont watch it! he goes through the wall!
it's not grabbing me...
it's not THAT good. Don't expect it to be and you might enjoy it.
I can't see a girl ever enjoying sex with me.
paper bags from the chemist.
It doesn't get wet enough to break.
you mean you dont do it in your pants first and then put it in limp?
I really do.
actially ALL Dexys albums are good - come on KEVIN!
Arrival date - January 2007
I DONT CARE!
must feel now that the Browns are long dead.
no one ever one liners with me on threads. Just you wait I'll get my revenge and one day all of this will be yours
Sorry I got that all wrong didn' I?
how long do bears live?
maybe he's retired to darkest peru too.
but with all that marmalade his blood sugar must be up the spout and Peru has thin air which isn't good for people with bad hearts. Just ask John Peel. Postumously of course.
maybe he'd be more suited to tropical climes.
nothing will bring him back. we have to let go.
I just have this sad mental imagine of the Brown's house being closed up and paddington weeping silently into his inanimate paws.
not 'imagine' - jesus.
EVERYONE knows that, even Chris is cool
I knew that, never mind chris.
but i dont care/
There is something about Gino and Come on Eileen that I find unpleasent....they are catchy its true, but I would rather they were not played at any danceteria i am in, otherwise a posse of loons leap to their feet gleefully and run to the dancefloor, whilst I am trying to head in the opposite direction.
Also there is something unpleasently unwholesome about Kevin Rowland.....please note that this is in contrast to John Brainloves friend, who I find pleasingly unwholesome
has given me horrible deja vu...
I just ahd the faint memory of reading all the posts before.
It's made the inside of my head feel all itchy now...
Theo being a div to thank for that.
I've not been this right since I had a go at Nirvana Unplugged, it seems. :D
I concur with you
After years of wondering what everyone else saw in them. I've always loved (and always will love) Come On Eileen. It's one of the 1st song's I can remember along with "Don't You Want Me?" by The Human League and "Making Your Mind Up" by The Fizz.
am also appalled
courtesy of my boss' MP3 collection.
My first thought is they're not nearly as bad as Come on Eileen and Geno would lead me to suspect.
My second thought is that I don't like the production on this album. The brass is so loud in the mix that bass, drums and guitars (if ther are any?) are reduced to sounding quite tinny, but in order to have them louder I'd be deafened by duelling saxophonists and trumpeteers.
Not exactly a fan of his vocals but they're interesting.
(And jesus this loud brass thing is bloody irritating on track four. It's all quiet and then BANG fucking brass in your head!)
