but requires incredible perseverance and a strange desire to read detailed descriptions of the lives of the early 19th century Russian aristocracy. Both of which I have.
but i realised after 300 pages i had no idea who anyone was....
i should give it another go :D
reading about hundreds of years of Russian suffering is one thing, reading FOR hundreds of years isn't my favourite way to empathise.
the Soviet film of War And Peace is the most expensive film ever made, taking inflation into account. It's nearly 5 hours long.
Dostoyevsky bores me too.
so i'm fine with that.
i haven't read much, because what i've tried to read i got very bored with.
i find the russian psyche fascinating, but not the books that result from it.
its short and angry and very good
