I wish I could rant like Dr cox. Im going to sample little bits of each one and turn them into a mega rant, rote learn it, then shout it at the next person that annoys me.
I think the time a friend of mine saw Scrubs for the first time, pointed out Dr Cox and said "he's a bit like you" was the proudest moment of my life.
I think I love you. And the show is fucking awesome.
I have been known to go on weird stream-of-consciousness rants that I'm fairly sure all my friends have learnt to tune out over the years. Oh, and I have no emotions. That was probably what my friend meant.
is this weird?
at least you'd be entertained.
Dr cox, holden caulfield, frank from the wasp factory, and thom yorke
I.e worlds biggest dickhead.
Its going to be great.
be my husband!
i suppose, the earlier series were best...
Scrubs would probably win if i was drunk. Seinfeld would win if i was sipping a cup of tea in a dressing down.
you know - that list.
as its genuis, i like watching scrubs though as its a good heartwarming comedy and probably more lollable
How about Arrested Development? I bought the first two seasons the other week and have been slowly working my way through them. I am ASTOUNDED at the quality.
Arrested Development is the best thing ever. My favorite bit:
Gob: Well now you just love the ten commandments. Except you're forgetting the most important one: love thy father, and honour him above all others, unless it be'eth me, thy sweet lord.
The tacked on "emotional learning" bit at the end of EVERY FUCKING EPISODE robs this of any chance it had of being great, though it is very good on occasion.
Mine has to be so far "Do these effectively hide my thunder?" THUNDER! I nearly prolapsed.
It's definitely my favourite show currently on TV. Possibly my favourite show ever (although Buffy the Vampire Slayer takes some beating).
In many ways I actually prefer the last couple of series to the first 3. "Floating Head Doctor" is inspired stupidity!
is that even a contest?
Scrubs wins by many, many miles.
No one else seems to
Guy Secretan is the best character ever
I'm eating the coffee.
You are, you are. You are eating the coffee. You are eating the coffee. You ate the expensive coffee.
Yeah, well done. Do you know what that means? Do you know what the whole of that means? It means that you won.
I shouldn't think so. Green Wing isn't remotely funny.
Though Dr Statham is practically a clone of the science teacher I had all through secondary school, Mr Alan Whymark. And yes, he did have a name that could also be represented as a symbol (?), and I was the only person in school who ever noticed it. And cared. Mr Whymark was much better, because aside from the inability to swear effectively "You... bloody bastards!", he also suffered from an appalling skin condition resulting in ugly scabs decorating his entire head, he had a talking voice one can only describe as "Mr Bean-like" and he rocked a combover.
The best thing however, was his wardrobe, which consisted of one suit. Tweed blazer: grey. Trousers one size too small: navy. White socks (see trousers). Shirt: light blue. And tie: navy again.
This was confirmed when a group photo of all the teachers did the rounds one time confirming that he had been rocking this look since at least 1988 - that's 14 years.
So you see, My secondary school science teacher was infinitely funnier than the funniest part of Green Wing.
The prosecution rests, your honour!
shit and not even funny
I've met him and he is made of 99%truth.
you on the other hand..I've never met...
99%....that 1% of untruth lies in his statement above.
after The Simpsons I pretyy much bum it.
I'm so bad ay curb jobs...
Are you my caucasian?
you piss sitting down?
do you shit standing up?
There's a jetstream of bullshit coming out your mouth right now...
I think Scrubs has the edge.

Girl's Gone Wild!
Cheryl's numb vagina!
It's bleedin great
Which was the post I was replying too!
(embarassing confession - due to lack of digital TV I've still never seen Curb Your Enthusiasm)
but as far as british comedies go, y'know
Teachers? Was that even a comedy? I think it would be charitable calling it "a rotten shit-fest".
Has its moments. Much like Zack Braff films, it loses whatever gains it makes in self aware kookiness in the sea of dry heave inducing schmaltz it inevitably drowns the ending in.
Teachers was shit. Green Wing was shit.
