hot stuff, anyone else seen it? and episode 5 looks even better.
The Others were complete bastards. I like it when that happens.
Where's the trailer for Ep 5? (Only 2 more weeks of this to go!)
the episode actually do keep getting better.
ill spoiler cos no one would open this without watching it anyway...
two islands?! also we found out the others commute between the two islands by submarine. Another thing which this almost definitely solves is the cable running into the water in the 1st series, has to be a running to the other island right? probably how they get their video feeds and what not. But how come the losties havent seen the other island? strange. Also this kind of sets up the two islands as one for the experiment, and a viewing island(the hydra) probably tested on polar bears and stuff and then released them onto the other island. Also the smoke monster seems to guard that island or is on the loose there.
also the previews make it seem like it is ben who has the tumour, but the previews are usually always misleading, but who else could it be? well we find out next week but if it isnt ben then i hope the twist is its jack or sawyers.
also in the preview, man with eye patch!!! PIRATE!! looks amazing...
and if rumours are to be believed someeone big is gonna die next week, and it is an ECKO episode. hmmm...
cos desmond is too important and, well, it might be charlie but the writers said charlie and claire would be involved in a love triangle this season, and watching the last episode it seems desmond could be the third person. i think its got to be ecko. would be cool if it wasnt though.
can i get the third series please?!
note - did not read most posts in this thread.... that would be bad.
the other day actually.
i downloaded something but it wouldnt work. boo.
any ideas why/how to get it to work?
and is it legal?
nope i am a normal person. i think.
boobies on that torrent website. i had to shut my eyes.
from 'ask auselio'...
interviewer: The preview for tonight's Lost was intense. Please tell me Sawyer is going to be OK!— Shannon
Ausiello: Sawyer's not the one you should be worrying about. Next week, a major character (as in a series regular) whose name is not Sawyer will join Boone, Shannon, Ana Lucia and Libby in the big island in the sky. And you're not going to believe who it is. I won't believe it until I see it with my own eyes.
the episode is called 'the cost of living' and apparently its a decision jack makes could cost another lost characer their life, kates flasback is ep6, but its still possible they could have her flashback after she dies to finish her story.
But jacks decision is probably to stay with the others which means he not there to help ecko who is in trouble.
of course saying all that they made it out to be sawyer who was gonna die last series when it was actually shannon, so it'll probably be sayid.
fuck it it could be anyone.
my torrent programme?
download a bit torrent programme.
Actually, you need to google BitTorrent and read a guide first if you're not familiar with it!
what else do i need to know?!
how long will it take to download an episode?
just got to torrentspy search lost and click on episode one and it will download
should take a couple of hours or less
instead of bittorrent....
really dont understand - is that for real? and why - if it is?
need a fag , this is stressful.
its gonna take 9 hours.
is that right?
i wanted to watch it NOW
say something like 70 hours, but as soon as the bit rate increases it could take around 3 hours....although for some reason when i downloaded the 3rd episode it only took around 40 minutes, i was on about 97kb/s..crazy.
get faster - it went from 3 days to 9 hours to 7 hours.
and then it stopped.
what is your bitrate at the moment?
the bit that says kbs?
if it is then its 40 - and down to 3 hours!
is that right?
usually it downloads at about 20-40, but if your lucky it will get bigger.
2 hours - woohoo!
the higher the number the quicker it will be.
anyone ever tell you.... your cool!!
ps 64 now!! episode 3 me up!
3 me up!
cool....you are downloading ep 4 yeah? thats the latest one.
episode 1 season 3....
whats the quality like?
basically as your watching it off tv. episode one is the best in my opinion.
1 hour 35 mins to go!!
Cos 20-40 on a popular torrent like Lost is pretty piss poor!
a more appropriate question is how many connected peers he has.
Please rewrite that post and use the word SHE.
a more appropriate question is how many connected peers she has......why doesn't SHE have a profile pic?
yourself, specifically ;)
Lost is almost always one of the busiest torrents and stays pretty well seeded between episodes. I got the latest one at 220Kbs (that's on 6 meg though...). Even so, if you're on like 2 meg, you should be getting around 60, not 20, on a torrent :)
that post in ENGLISH!
the more ram on a computer the quicker it will be.
Not at all :S
The ratio of seeds to leechers, combined with your broadband speed and the size of the file, determines how quick it will be.
But put together with that you've got whether or not you've opened the right ports and whether or not your ISP is limiting traffic on certain ports (specifically the ones used by different P2P and BitTorrent programmes - ie. 6881-6999 as a default, usually)
The RAM of your pc will determine how much running bittorrent will cripple your machine, so may affect time in a roundabout way, but it's nowhere near as important as that other bumpf ^^
did that just come out of your brain?
my face is very scrunched up now.
i thought it was a boy sheep.
I am on 82 now - is that good and are you jealous?
eg mine has 512mb......you must be good looking, because you don't know much about much. (sorry for the harsh comment against woman)...im only kiddin' come ere you.
like well used or...its hard to explain....connected peers is how many people you are transferring data with as torrent spy is constantly chucking around data and compiles data from other people to create your programme.its quicker this way.
that explains it! clear as mud now.
what happens if i try to download 2 episodes at the same time - does it go slow?
and nothing else.
some stuff. honest. i thought i knew more until i started posting in this thread tho it must be said.
never realised you were 30 and female....shocker.
on how fast your internet connection is. If you have a big connection, you can download more at a time. Ideally, your download speed would be spread between both torrents. Doesn't always work like that (cos of lots of the things already mentioned).
You're best off downloading one, and starting a second off while you're watching. If you don't mind waiting, you can kick start all three off but bittorrent can use up a lot of resources so you might find everything else gets a bit slower
means how many people have the COMPLETE file and are currently uploading. If this number is high, you're in luck. Connected peers are all those people, like yourself, trying to download the file. Bittorrent works by sending files in small pieces. The more seeds there are, the more chance there is of you getting all 100% of pieces relatively quick and easily. At the same time as you're downloading it, you're also sending the bits you have to other peers, in a big ole circle jerk of sharing, caring, illegal TV love. If there are shit loads of connected peers but only like 1 seeder, it will take a lot longer to get the file (because each seeder can only upload a certain amount of the file to a certain amount of people at a time).
And once you've finished downloading, leave the programme running so other people can get it from you (aim for a 1:1 download/upload ratio)
if you have high numbers your in luck, if they're low they're not.The only number you want to be low is the time left one.
whats the difference between uploading and downloading?
downloading is what your getting from them.
well, downloading is you getting the file send to your computer. Uploading is you sending the file (automatically - you don't have to do anything to make it upload to someone else) to other people. Like I said, share and share alike.
Generally your download speed will (and should) be considerably higher than your upload speed.
It just helps to know how it works if you want to get the most out of it and get stuff fast (and I'm really f'in impatient when it comes to getting TV shows from America!)
other people are involved in this thing?
this is all too much for me.
does anyone ever get into trouble for doing this?
so just to confuse you even more, you might want to do a google search for something called PeerGuardian...
The other people are just those who've done exactly what you did - gone to torrentspy (or whatever other torrent website) and clicked on the Lost file to download it :)
if they did try to catch you it would be impossible.....the 3 advert where tey chuck the letters around, you know it? well those letters are a few seconds of lost and they leave you as soon as you get them and save them
honestly - download peerguardian and watch how many industry IPs try to get access to you while you're on bittorrent sites, or downloading...It's *unlikely*, but it's certainly not *impossible*
what do you do with the episode after you have watched it?
i just put it on my desktop.
it should download about 90-125kbs i reckon
someone please 'translate' computer into 'english'
whats an industry IP for a start?
does it matter how many songs you have in your itunes library?
its like a phone number for the comuter.
do you know how much memory a laptop has and how much stuff you can store in relation to this?
My Computer. It should list your hard drives. Right click on them and look at the Properties....that should tell ya
there's a little computer programme called PeerGuardian. It has a list of all the IPs (your IP is just something that identifies you on the internet, like a phone number, or address, as Chris said). While PeerGuardian is running, it will prevent IP addresses for government organisations, record companies and all the people that generally frown upon this downloading lark seeing what you're doing with your internet connection.
How effective it is, I don't know - I rarely bother using it because it can be a pain sometimes. But if you're really worried about getting caught illegally downloading, then it's a tool you can use to try and prevent it!
just exploded. I cant do this thread anymore!
is that big or small?
Yeah, that's pretty big!
As a comparison - I have 20 TV episodes (all around the same size - about 350), 2 series of something else (as smaller files) and an album on one harddrive currently - all of that takes up about 12 GB...
and type in dxdiag the it will show you all the cool stuff about your computer.
would know what that 'cool stuff' means....!?
anyway for all i know you may be telling me to do something that will break this thing for good. how do i know thats not gonna happen!?
i have managed without it for this long...
next question... what will happen when the download finishes - i am scared that if i press the wrong button it may disappear.
then go to my computer, local disk, programme files, bit torrent and then downloads then it will be there.
