For me it's Ross Noble.
well, he's no Lenny Bennett that's for sure.
although his recent shows haven't been as good as they should be.
I like Bill Bailey too.
Well, it's either him or Dylan Moran.
or no-one really stands out - that's me complimenting people
there's no one to touch Jim Davidson.
It's the hair.
And, in terms of sitcom-y type things, Chris Langham has always made me laugh myself sick. Before, y'know...
I say Simon Pegg, the lanky one from Extras (Steven Merchant??) and Mark Heap (Brian from Spaced, Alan(?) from Green Wing)
then these lot:
with meths on Dave Allen, he was absolutely brilliant. Other than that there is Bobcat Goldthwaite, Emo Phillips, Rich Hall and, um, Mike Reid
makes me laugh.
fucking hell. trying to eat my lunch here.
Pooing on trains. Brilliant.
has this guy got acid poo?
i guess it's still Eddie Izzard and Noel Fielding
isn't that funny when he's not in the boosh
but he makes me laugh, and that's what matter to me, call me selfish why don't you
to be Mitch Hedberg.
notable exclusions include
Mitchel and Webb
I also found some of Russel Brands Got issues very funny
Oh and graham garden
There I said it.
Hes amazing. all of his jokes are things twice as good as what you think of saying to people youve argued with.. after the argument. If that makes sense.great
My man Mark Thomas gets no love? I once saw a stand up of his from way back in the day before he got political and honest to god almost died laughing. Saw him live last year - same effect. He should get more respect.
He makes me happy and angry at the same time.
Although he's dead, Peter Cook might be the funniest man ever. Or Woody Allen. Or Chris Morris. Or Armando Iannucci.
Was it about Niggerballs? Cause I spent about 2 days laughing about that. I was just walking around murmuring "Heh heh... niggerballs".
In the shower: "Heh heh... niggerballs..."
Even in my sleep: "Heh heh... niggerballs..."
really like Mark Thomas. I met him once and discussed Colombia with him. He told me some joke about a book i'd never heard of and I laughed anyway.
maybe chris morris.
Gervais just about wins it for me
Adam and Joe
and how could I forget VIC AND BOB!!!
Gervais is definetly the best.
Closely followed by Jimmy Carr.
will always be king...
and Dylan Moran and Daniel Kitson also make me laugh a lot
Adam Bloom I always find funnier than anyone else who's with me watching the Comedy Store on paramount does...
Early Billy Connolly
LENNY FUCKING BRUCE
See? I have the best taste
Without Lenny Bruce, there would be no Bill Hicks, no Richard Pryor, no Rich Hall...remember, he broke the boundaries. Before him, people couldn't even swear onstage or they'd get arrested, and they could hardly speak their minds in such a cutting way. We have him to thank, and whether or not you think his material stood the test of time, he is absolutely vital to practically every good stand-up comic who followed.
