Sheffield Wednesday to make an offer at the 11th hour.
Leeds can have that dream midfield pairing they've been craving.
'Leeds to negotiate Wise appointment'
Most innacurate headline ever?
called Denis Stupid.
I don;t really know enough about it to judge, he seems to be pretty good so far as a manager.
I think. He's not really done enough to justify his appointment. I don't think, anyway. He's still surviving on his name alone.
In other football-related news, I had a dream that I tried to put a fiver on Coventry beating Colchester tonight but there were (unknown) complications that meant I wasn't allowed. What does this mean? Should I go down to Ladbrokes?
they won't let you bet because of unknown complications.
what a duo. i hope they go, it'll be funny.
can't copy the link :(
Someone do a tabloid-summation of the story for me?
might be going to leeds, since dennis <3 ken bates and leeds have no manager. a press conference has been cancelled.
Famously rich twat Ken Bates, who recently purchased Leeds United FC, has revealed who he would like to be the new manager of 'his' football club.
Bates has decided that the best option to move the club, who currently sit in their worst league position of all time, is to appoint Dennis Wise and Gus Poyet. He is Dennis Wise's son's godfather. The cunt.
He sees these two as some sort of management dream team. Which is slightly weird, given as all they've done is taken Swindon Town to third in League 2.
Ken Bates is a flange. Dennis Wise is a flange. Gus Poyet is actually pretty ace, which is a shame for him.
thought Wise did a fantastic job at Millwall, and I do think he'll make a great manager. I would still have let him cut his teeth a bit longer at Swindon, though. And Ken Bates has turned the club round, hasn't he? At least Leeds haven't got the national debt of Gambia hanging over their heads any more.
Don't get me wrong, though - I don't fucking like Leeds...
But it is too soon. I think. And financially, yeah, he has turned the club round - but they still have nothing to spend on players, apparently.
But this appointment does just seem to be an old pals act. All Wise did at Millwall was make them hard to beat, which I suppose is what he's looking for at Leeds. He didn't really achieve that much. I know they reached the cup final, but the 'biggest' club they beat en route was Sunderland in the semis, who at the time were in the same division. It just seems weird.
bates: "by way of compensation, i will give you this 9-carat crucifix earring"
in that Wise and Poyet have contracts that allegedly say that if they go to another club, then Swindon have to be paid the equivalent of a year's wages.
Now they are 'unsettled' and will probably resign - leaving Bates to snap them up as free agents.
