nNvember 21 is the 2nd annual NO MUSIC DAY. I'm going to observe this. Anyone else?
Can't be arsed to post links.
fuck this. this is the bill drummond thing yes? i like music, generally. even on the 21st of november.
I probably won't be doing this.
alos, you'll make Bamos angry...
rather than alas. But both are good...
how can it be done? Radio 4 I suppose..are jungles allowed?
but thinking of words similar, how about jingles?
how not listening to music for a day is going to solve the world's problems. Anyone?
In my room there is NEVER silence. It feels weird to have no musoc playing.
Definately not doing this. Whats the point?!
they are refreshing, it's weird I got to the age of 13 or so started to get really restless, music seemed to stop that and I listen to music every second of my spare time since, and I some times wonder if that restlessness is a necessary part of development which music stunts in someway, I have no idea what im talking about...*abanon reply*
Just to see if i can.
Why should I stop listening to music, just because some old cunt who made his money from RAVE can't find any good records?
That's retarded. Drummond should kill himself and we should observe his sacrifice by listening to the worst song we can think of and not whinging about it.
I am already doing this (see the Peter Andre/Jordan thread).
SHIT MUSIC DAY
Spend 24 hours listening to the most awful gash you can find, so the next day is like sweet aural nectar
In fact, I'm going to download some Dream Theater right now.
I'm going to join you in this Dream Theaterage. For they truly suck the songs of a thousand donkeys.
And their singer is called James LaBrie, which is always funny to recall.
I was actually impressed by how rubbish that line-up was.
obviously if it's no music day you can still listen to The Kooks
I think I'll 'observe' this as I'm not too scared to be without it - it will mean a whole day of making up songs in my head. Is that allowed?
God I'm SUCH a non-music fan for agreeing with drummond.
21st November is a Tuesday so I will be at work. Music (and a bit of personal email and internet) is the only thing that keeps me sane at work. So no music day can fuck off.
think of the endless days sans music when youre dead.
er exactly? So why would I want a day without music NOW that I will actually notice? It just seems utterly pointless to me.
but i do think it's a bit silly. why doesn't bill drummond just make something he wants to hear? or just shut himself in with an album he likes from THE OLDEN DAYS.
i suppose i'd have to agree with him to understand the point of it all.
made loads of records that were basically the same song and then deleted them all on the same day. His lack of ackknowledgement on the burgeoning post punk indie label scene as well pisses me off and his book '45' is excellent. So I will observe it - badly of course
you party-pooper scum
You all sit in chairs and stare at each other glumly.
Or am I thinking of 'work'?
then run to get a seat leaving others stood despondent and weeping.
Or am i thinking of 'the tube'?
what's the point? I can understand things like testicular cancer awareness day or remembrance day but how is this going to do anyone any good?
so why the hell diet?
What a silly piece of attention seeking. What's it for?
I'll be working that day, probably, and someone will have the radio on. Shame.
