After years ofplaying bass, I'm finally learning how to play guitar. Give me some easy songs to play :)
thats what i learnt first.
everyone learned wonderwall first.
followed up by a series of oasis songs all involving the same chords
is a good one.
also, Bad Moon Rising, most Beatles/Buddy Holly songs...
Olga was brilliant. I still don't understand the logic behind closing them down. What's wrong with allowing people to know how to play a song? It's just another knee-jerk idiotic decision.
There She Goes by The La's? That's easy.
And something involving Em later on.
There are lots of websites with guitar tabs on them (assuming the stupid recording industry haven't closed them all down yet).
a LOT of tabs/chords on the internet are terrible! i find it really hard to find ones that are actually correct.
and TOO MANY POP UPS!
but books, much better
but last time I checked, that had been closed down.
satisfying to learn hendrix stuff
learn rock and roll. 3 chords. easy.
chuck berry is easy to learn, he was very limited......
Ho ho ;-)
and I like playing Dandy Warhols songs too
was one of the first things I played. I think I started playing just because I wanted to be able to play it
if you're not good at picky stuff. I can't play that. I'm cack-handed.
I can do chords and stuff easily enough.
This makes me better than you, and therefore means I'm also correct about Unplugged In New York.
You just need to come to terms with using your ring finger.
I'll always be a bassist, but if I can play guitar as well, what's stopping me taking over the world?!
The Pitch and Yaw of Satellites by Youthmovie Soundtrack Strategies.
Wild Thing by The Troggs
Wonderwall by Oasis
Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead
Street Spirit by Radiohead
Out of Reach by The Get Up Kids
Hmm. The first two were forced on me by my guitar teacher.
I would've told him to piss off.
This thread kinda made me realise I don't actually know any songs for guitar. I just sort of adapt what I know for other instruments and noodle about if anything.
I should fix that.
I play the piano.
just dig out the booklets for Modern Life is Rubbish, Parklife and the Great Escape: they have the chords for all the songs above the lyrics.
But I need to learn the chords first, and that's boring, heh.
You don't need to know chords. You need to know finger positions. There's about 5. Then you'll know every song ever made.
That is as far as my "talent" goes. And I'm really, really bad. :(
FCPREMIX by The Fall of Troy.
Then everything else will seem easy. Remember, when the guy wrote it he had been playing for three years.
is pretty easy, much like most by the foos.
The first songs I learnt to play on guitar were
Babe I'm gonna leave you - Led Zep
Needle and the damage done - Neil Young
the stupidest advice i've ever heard. You are stupid if you think that is helping
Also: White Stripes are piss easy.
buy a fuckload of cheap pedals off ebay and turn your amp up really loud
It does me fine
stick to bass. everyone is learning guitar nowadays. volkswagon has started giving away guitars when you but a veicle from them. i do a monthly blues jam and one of the guitarists there told me to stick to bas cause guitarists come a dime a dozen
to be able to play more than one instrument.
and they wont be a nothing anymore.
