Best Simpsons line ever?
references to society and life...
the two can coexist
I quite like South Park (although very little of it post-season 2 makes me laugh that much), but as satire / cultural commentary, it looks obvious, hackneyed and unsophisticated next to The Simpsons.
And before you remind me that The Simpsons hasn't been great at that since about season 10, I'm well aware of that already ;-)
that's when it started getting good! maybe the satire isn't as clever as the simpsons but the story post-season 2 is brilliant. to me.
have been the best ones they've done.
the themes and ideas dealt with parallel those still present within the society of today. so its a social commentary to an extent but also combines that with light entertainment...
the new ones are rubbish.
if something makes me laugh, it can't be shit
I think I'll watch some SImpsons now. How is that possible, some of you may well be asking. Oh, it's no big thing - I just have every episode made.
but i never watch it any more.
really IS the best TV programme ever. Even better than Columbo (just)
ren and stimpy personally...but there arent that many episodes of it...which is the only down side
although South Park seems to go from strength to strength and is funnier.
Well, he's kind of had it in for me ever since I accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."
I love Futurama too, why can't we just all agree that they're ace and move on?
what are some of the best homer simpson 'mmm...' lines? there is the classic 'mmm, beer' but one of my favorites is 'mmm, sacreligious'
They just made Homer more stupid than he used to be, which ruins it for me. My favourite line is:
Marge: "Homer! There's a man here who thinks he can help you!"
Homer: "Is it Batman?"
Marge: "No, it's a scientist"
Homer: "Batman's a scientist"
Marge: "It's not Batman!"
"Homer, it's very easy to criticise."
by a long way. However, Fox is run by idiots, which is why it got cancelled.
Well in any case, I'm still outraged.
"Sir, you look like a man wh has trouble satisfying his wife, and...ow!"
And yes, Futurama has been recommisioned, but the new episodes won't be shown until 2009. Merde.
I thought they closed that place down!
I always have trouble answering the "which is better: Family Guy or the simpsons?" question.
They're both just unbelievably funny. :(
i do find it unbelievable that so many people find Family Guy so funny.
Martin Lawrence to the Simpsons' Richard Pryor (in the black comedian analogy)
South park would be Eddie Murphy or possibly a Chris Rock.
Kent Brockman: Ladies and gentlemen, uh, we've just lost the picture, but what we've seen speaks for itself. The Corvair spacecraft has apparently been taken over - 'conquered' if you will - by a master race of giant space ants. It's difficult to tell from this vantage point whether they will consume the captive earth men or merely enslave them. One thing is for certain; there is no stopping them; the ants will soon be here. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.
But gunners, why no likey family guy/american dad? american dad has the best line ever
(roger has just knocked out two girls)
"where'd they go?"
"those black kids who ran in here, did this and ran out"
as someone wise said, "where are the jokes?" i watched a whole episode of south park and didnt spot a single joke it was all just not that clever satire
kicks ten kinds of shit out of recent Simpsons. Every episode of the latter I've seen of late revolves around unfunny post modern in-jokes and Homer being so stupid it's actually quite boring. South Park is one of if not the most biting thing on TV at the moment. Also, Cartman and Butters easily beat Bart and Lisa.
The two of them can co-exist peacefully? South Park can be extremely funny, and so can the Simpsons. If you don't like some of the early South Park stuff, you're a lost cause. It's hilarious.
it's always overtly political. i think we need a show like that.
actually says anything, whereas the Simpsons has something to say in it's political moments
I love them both, stop fighting
Noooo... it's gotta be "Here are your messages - you have 30 minutes to move your car. You have 10 minutes to move your car. Your car has been impounded. Your car has been crushed into a cube. You have 30 minutes to move your cube."
Or: "...And then the CHUDS came at me." or "Please wait for Officer Steve [GRUBOWSKI]" Fuck it - the whole of the New York episode is one great moment after another.
No... it's actually: "I'm not a genius... or are I?"
but i haven't seen it since before 9/11 :'(
was the sexual tonic one.
i love that episode :D
this was actually shouted at my flatmate by a drunken aussie in macdonalds. hahaha
