bloody hell. young chap.
such a sad sad story. I'm really upset about this.
That's really knocked me back. So so sad.
sorry, i don't know what to say now
That's so sad. I liked him a lot.
That's terrible news.
and was up there with ronnie in terms of pulling the game away from the Hendry spoilt child years. This has really upset me as I thought he'd pull through even though he struggled at the Crucible this year.
I feel sick.
and always seemed really popular amongst players too.
Really sad news.
heartbreaking. Just like prole i really thought he would pull through. horrible, horrible news.
with a small child as well.
he won those 3 Masters titles against the odds and almost made the Embassy final in 2004 but there was so much more in him. What a tragedy.
when he came back to win it 10-9 was brilliant. I really hoped he'd win the Embassy too, especially after the narrow defeat in the semi-final. I'm devastated.
the first one against Fergal 'Rabbit' O Brien was the best as he was 'on the ropes' -he also had really cool hair until he tried to copy Ronnie. He should be a hero for any young snooker player for making it look more than just peevish Hendry in a Highland Spring checked waistcoat
Alex higgins is competing in the Irish Masters this week. I'm all over the place at the moment!
he won all three finals 10-9 having come back from big deficits. I don't remember the O'Brien one too well but the other two were brilliant.
It was sad at the Crucible this year when he couldn't play properly. Am really gutted. Sorry for going on about this, as you might have guessed I liked the man, though I do recall 'tsk-ing' at a feature on his wedding during a tournament and it looked really pikey - oh dear!
I like Prole had thought that he was winning his battle with cancer.
He was certainly a player that you could tell had a deep love of them game, always playing with a smile on his face.
My thoughts are with his young family right now.
He was so young as well. That's really sad.
was exactly what I was thinking. Had no idea he was that ill.
Prole goes on Death List
I don't follow snooker massively, but liked watching Paul Hunter play whenever the mood to watch a bit took me. Him and O'Sullivan are the only two players that, as somebody being completely indifferent to the sport, I can honestly say I enjoyed watching
So young as well. This is horrible
I was under the impression he was on the mend aswell.
I don't follow snooker, but seeing this has really hit me hard. perhaps because of his age.
Anyway, R.I.P., paul.
he was one of my favourite snooker players. what a waste.
fuck that's really shocked me. I'm sad, I liked him. Too young.
he was my favourite
He was a great player, lots of flair.
on a wet and miserable Tuesday morning. Or at any time, really.
is such horrible news. I was lucky enough to play in a few tournaments with him and he was a really nice bloke. The last I heard was that he was doing quite well, to then hear that he has passed away is an absolute kick in the teeth.
Very sad news indeed
I have to echo what Prole has said previously. I really thought he'd pull through as well - it's such a terrible loss to the wonderful game of snooker. He was a fantastic sport in the game, and I admired him for competing still when it was clear he wasn't well and was struggling/exhausted. RIP.
I couldn't have given a monkeys about steve irwin t'other week, yet he's much more famous and 'visible'. I'm only barely aware of who Paul Hunter is but reading that news story made me sad.
he was such a goof sportsman and so young
this morning - oh dear, it just doesn't seem fair at all. It only seems like yesterday he was working up the rankings. Life is really unfair.
Such horrible news :'(
such a talented player, could have won everything, and he died so young. It's horrible when people so young and talented die. See also Richard Burns.
I was on the verge of tears when I heard this news...
Although I didnt particularly like Hunters style of play he got top marks for being a very ballsy snooker player who wouldn't give up.
Going through his health problems publicly shows a massive sense of bravery in such a young man.
Same age as me. It really puts things in perspective.
RIP Paul Hunter.
he was a great young snooker player, and definitely would have stayed in the game for years and years to come.
very sad :(
