I'm gonna be in Leeds for a couple of days soon.
Where are all the decent record shops????
and another good one in a shopping centre.
Theo's answer reminds me that there is also one on that street that I saw that bloke walking on once. It's the one next to the shop that sells the stuff.
If you're going, can you pick me up a copy of that song that that band did? The one that goes NER-NERNERNER-NERNERNER-NERNER? I'll give you the money when I see you next
it was the second one I was talking about. It's in a shopping centre where the wall opposite is painted blandly to look like houses.
I think it's the side of a Morisson's or something.
The other one's in the shopping centre that's sort of concrete-y and has a night club in it that's all gothy and circular.
the big one is up the stairs of what may or may not be the Merrion centre. You come up the escalator/stairs and then you look right and it's there.
I don't really know much of Leeds. Or at least place names...
I can get to the Cockpit though.
the one near painted walls is jumbo records. there are plenty of old soul type songs plus football fanzines (there's only one F in fulham, anybody?). it isn't there anymore as it moved to the bond street centre where it now resides above sports soccer and just round the corner from pound world. that should be your first port of call.
then try crash, not as good but it is next to leeds' premier tobacconist and opposite a god awful primark.
we've got hmv and virgin etc but why would you ever want to go there?
when you up?
they seem fairly easy to find.
I'm up (down?) in two weeks for the Bronx gig, but instead of going hom the same night, I've booked a hotel and we're gonna bum around the City Centre for a day methinks.
but are bumming around.
Whatever happens in the hotel, stays there!
but my boss doesn't approve of bumming around in work hours or even skiving. you should go to little tokyo (behind big oxfam and house of frasier).
Okay, well at least I knew about them. Also what you've said seems to contradict what Dave, Leeds said so now I'm totally confused.
i got my bond st and st john's centres mixed up.
jumbo is in the centre with the man with a beer barrel outside it.
i can never remember names, just shops and landmarks. like the one with the emos (ie corn exchange).
i even see them sleeping outside there on summer days. crazy.
a 6-inch sub from MeccaWay. Go on.
