and i've decided i think they're shit. and i spent fifty quid on them. does anybody else do this?
so I tend not to.
what's a reasonable amount to spend on jeans, like?
Just £50 seems a bit steep. The most I've ever spent is about £20 I think. But I'm not sure of that. I tend not to remember things like that.
can you buy jeans for £20?
are you sure you're not in fact living in 1982?
Have you never been to a 'sale'?
only ever shop at sales? that's quite a feat.
How often do you need to buy jeans? Once a year, maybe? So yeah, I pretty much only ever shop at sales. The last time I bought a new item of clothing was in the sales at the start of the year. True story.
Once every 10 years, surely? :D
a utility shopper. fair enough. i just bought 3 things today - a grey cardigan, grey jumper and a pair of smart grey trousers.
don't you know grey is soooooooo in?
£10 - £20 on jeans...but then I heart primark and peacocks
did see a pair for £3 once in Asda. I couldn't believe it. they must be made of battery farmed denim subsitute and made in a phillipino sweatshop by 4000 purpose bread, 8 armed children. in cages.
I assume you have the receipt. Say they were for a friend but that your friend has now died. Also, make a point of saying that he didn't die wearing the jeans
deciding I don't like them the next day? Nope
Can't you take them back?
£20 on any piece of clothing. Unless it's shoes or a jacket, and even then.
i'm not sure if i can ... i have worn them once (last night) ... it's such a difficult judgement to make (the purchase of jeans) and i always buy terribly
For £17 though. Black Calvin Kleins. They looked nice in the shop but the waist is too big so I have wear a belt and it scrunches up a bit at the CROTCH sometimes and makes it look like I'm excited. They had ones with a smaller waist but some moron had put the security deeeleey right on the inside of the waistband so I could judge if they were too tight or what.
I also once bought a pair of cords which have that annoying yellow shine to them from a certain angle. I thought it'd wash out or something. I never wear them.
except maybe boots.
Try taking them back, otherwise ebay them.
What don't you like about them?
well, it was a bit of emergency. i badly needed to buy some new jeans and had been putting it off for a long time so i went and just bought the most acceptable pair in the shop but i feel very self-conscious wearing them as if everyone is looking at me and thinking 'what a tosser' ... which they might be anyway, i suppose
when you wore them?
Say they belonged to Hitler or something.
but then jeans never fit me so it's not such a big deal.
everyone else was too, not having a go (well, a bit)
but then you spend so much on jeans! jeans can be had for £12!
I've had jeans for £15 before but they were shit jeans...
Actually I'd pay £60 for a pair of jeans that actually genuinely fit me, i.e. dark blue, 36" inside leg, 30" waist, boot cut.
I still have pairs of jeans from 8 years ago going strong so it's hardly an big expense.
how good do jeans have to be?
why wear jeans anyway? they're so fucking ubiquitous. they aren't even as good as other types of trouser, notably cords.
Jeans do have to be good, if they don't fit properly they just look rubbish. The cheap £12/15 ones are normally useless.
Cords are totally not better than jeans. Although I actually don't hate them as much as some people. Brown cords can look alright sometimes, any other colour is generally bad though.
when you see my gold cords
blue jeans = rubbish (for men)
women wearing jeans gives blurks something to ponder before they get to see their faces
