What's the longest you've ever gone without it, and why did you do such a silly thing?
Four full days (three nights)... due to a mix of work related stress and drugs. Very very stupid, my mind was a fried egg by the end of it. I regularly don't sleep so I can get more done, tonight being an example of that as I'm moving house in five hours, but that long was just fucking stupid.
Moving house in 5 hours and your computer's still unpacked?! :O
I should probably do that now actually, but there is a lot of food left to be devoured first. The flipside of sleep deprivation is stupidity, clearly.
I had an initial burst of twelve hours, then dragged myself up to watch Massive Attack in Brixton which was utterly magnificent in my slightly dazed state. After that I slept another eight or so hours and it seemed to go back to normal. Lucky I guess, sometimes even one missed night can screw me for days.
after reading i slept for 16 uninterrupted hours. and that was after getting 6-8 hours sleep a night there anyway.
i do seem to need more sleep than most though.
I can get by on just a few hours a night. Some nights i only have an hour and a half, and as long as i take it easy, i'm as functional as usual..
when working early shifts at my last job i only got about 4 hours some nights. The next day i felt awful all day, had trouble concentrating and couldn't stop yawning.
Sucks, that does.
Didn't you grab yourself some proplus/redbull/etc.. ?
but that didn't really help, my body had trouble digesting it, it made me feel ill and a bit faint. Everything stops working when i'm that tired.
to ever take pro plus. Infact I want some sleeping tablets.
I enjoy sleeping, too. It's just waking up i don't like.
I always remember bad things when i wake up. I end up lying in bed for hours getting all worked up over things i can't help. It's ridiculous.
Proplus didn't even work for me. :(
sometimes i tend to get quite upset when i wake up. it's kinda horrible how, when your eyes first open and your mind is coming round, it's like it's blank, so whatever the thoughts are that rush in first are the ones that start the day, and if they're horrible ones, you just feel like oh, for god's sakes, why don't i just bloody well go back to sleep again.
god, it's half four...
Because whatever mood i wake up in, i stick in for HOURS.
So being woken up at 7am today with a letter thrown in my face wasn't good fun. all it had was a half price bus pass. :( Hahah.
I've been pulling hardcore 10-12 hour shifts over summer. and I can't hack no sleep anymore.
I went to a party, stayed up all night drinking and carried on throughout the next day and night too. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
i forgot to answer the actual question...
i think the longest was 48 hours, after which i felt pretty nauseous. though recently i seem to be able to be up at about ten, go all the way through to five or six in the morning and then grab a couple then. i'm fairly sure my steam will run out by sunday, though, and i'll throw up or something.
i'm sure i once heard that keith richards once didn't sleep for probably four days (is that 72 hrs?) and became so exhausted that his body shut down - whilst he was walking across a room. he fell asleep on his feet, whilst in motion, tumbled over and cracked his head on a stereo.
we are clearly straight.
I thought I was straight now I have proof!
i'm approaching death...
*pulls on bedsocks*
it's getting colder these days,
it's technicaly autumn,
which means it may as well be winter,
I wear a basketball top to bed. I want to wear a basketball top and pretend I'm a rapper. The only time I can do this without looking like an idiot is bedtime.
i'm wearing a massively oversized New York Giants jumper, even though my mum always told me never to go to sleep in such items because your skin can't breathe, apparently! which is a bit scary, really.
so, i'm pretending to be a baseballer, i think, even though sleep couldn't be further removed from physical activity.
sod it, shall i just stay awake?
I'm considering it, but I have a big day tomorrow moving back to uni and haven't started packing yet. Have you any plans for tomorrow before you decide to stay awake?
my packing took me about three days, get on it!
i'm supposed to be going to Cohesion festival, an all-dayer thingy in Platt Fields Park in Manchester, with a really, REALLY odd lineup, though i'm considering not turning up until about four ish. however, before this i suppose i'll have to go to the shops and buy bread, milk, phone credit so that i can actually find people in there...
which all sounds quite challenging. perhaps i should...
*TURNS OFF COMPUTER*
Obviously not that I'm trying to get rid of everyone so I can start a thread "Only user online!" I don't worry about packing I only live an hour away in uni it isn't a big deal going back and I pack in a typical boy way i.e. quick and messy.
We were doing line dancing at 3am and went for a HIKE at 5am, cos guides are cool.
It was a bad time.
which didn't really end till the next afternoon....
during my hard clubbing years.. ouch.
is a great song by Marion.
And something I've forgotten since having kids !
i do like the marion one. but sleep is lovely.lush, you might say.
Dandy's song !
