Smuggest advertising campaign ever?
Just the BBC existing.
There was a radio advert for it that was going on about Little Britain and i expect it to say at the end ''join us for the history of Little Britain'' or somesuch but then it just says ''This is what we do.'' What, drive the same tired jokes into the ground? Cheers.
look at the alternatives.
i see your point.
But it's gone more downhill as it's ceased to have that whole government funding aspect I think.
Doesn't that seem stupid? It is funded by the public who have no choice but to pay for it even if they never watch it. It has a guranteed income regardless of viewing figures. Why does it need to advertise itself???
it seems kinda pointless. Plus because they only advertise on the BBc you'll already be watching/listening already...
People are very quick to dismiss the BBC as rubbish.
ITV don't really have the same problem: People associate seeing certain programmes with being while they watch ITV, but the BBC is associated closely with everything to do with its channels and radio.
This means that huge amounts of hyperbole are generated every time a programme is aired people don't like. Look at you expressing your (understandable) dislike of Little Britain. But it IS popular. There are probably lots of things about the BBC you DO like, yeah?
BBC 4? They had that Fall docuentary i guess.
they're axing OneMusic on Radio 1, hence i am annoyed that they put such significance on stuff everyone knows about anyway. Plus i'm just generally pissed off about it.
That's actually just justified the licence fee.
I only use Radio 4 longwave to listen to the cricket...
is that short for something?
The ''Today'' programme gives excellent news coverage and combines it with interesting opinion, I love the 6-7 hour in the evening of news + a comedy slot, the saturday morning show is great, the quizzes/games are good, and rarely do I listen to radio 4 and not learn something and enjoy it. Surely that's a good thing?
i like Radio 4.
It's dull but it's brilliant at it. Sometimes i want things that aren't all jazzy and pizzazzy and in-your-face.
The Archers though, that's just terrible. Worst radio programme named after a beverage anyone?
I mean, yeah the Archers is hell - but then that's when I flick my radio to BBC 7, obviously.
However the content on Radio 4 is generally interesting, not dull.
and giving Lamacq an hour's magazine show rather than four hours of LAmacq Live every week.
They're replacing it with Colin Murray.
You see why i'm annoyed?
colin murray every fucking night? playing what? zane lowe show stuff?
Admittedly his show standing in for The Evening Session (whilst the BBC tried to coax Zane away fom MTV) was much better than 'The Zipper' *throws up* and had a few good sessions, Mclusky in particular. But i think they'll want him to be another Zane Lowe now, yep.
2 channels that I fail to see the point for are ITV, and Five. I rarely watch those channels, apart from the odd movie, or football match.
It's to make sure Total Recall is on every other night, yeah?
I have it in a nice little round tin that looks like Mars. :D
